They actually do not mean the same thing. If the first score took 4 seconds, the “time in between scores” could still be zero seconds, but it wouldn’t be “10 points scored in zero seconds,” because the first 3 points took 4 seconds. So you are incorrect.

Classic strategy from the losing side of a debate

The headline/article does not say “no time passed between scores.” It said 10 points were scored in zero seconds.

The post says the jets scored 10 points in zero seconds. Patriots scored 35 points in zero seconds.

In that case, every team in every game would score all their points in zero seconds. The Patriots yesterday scored 35 points in zero seconds.

The article says they scored 10 points in zero seconds. That’s not what you’re saying.

So, in other words, you agree with me that this headline/article is inaccurate.

Ok so when a team throws a 90-yard touchdown pass, you would then say that that touchdown took 0 seconds. I would disagree.

The post said they scored 10 points in zero seconds. A field goal is not kicked in zero seconds.

Seems like you are as well

That is not the equivalent of “scored 10 points in zero seconds.” The box score also only says the specific time of the TD after a 90-yard, 10 minute drive. Would you argue that that touchdown was scored in zero seconds?

Says the guy reading deep into the deadspin comments section

The time between the snap and the FG being signaled good isn’t part of the scoring drive? So those 3-4 seconds just aren’t accounted for?

That’s an entirely different thing than scoring 10 points in zero seconds, so not sure my interpretation is the problem.

The field goal play would’ve had to have started at like 3:25 or whatever so it took them those 4 seconds to get the 3 points (a touchdown drive of 1 long pass play isn’t a zero-second drive).

Why doesn’t the field goal take any seconds?

Again with the poorly written headline and first sentence. My god.

What a shame

This headline is confusing...
