My effort is here -
I see that we both enjoy the company of dogs, and fight a similar, complex battle. I wish you the best.
I make no claim to determining just conduct. I can only take in what information is made available to me, and work with that. I think it is pretty basic knowledge that you do not leave your car, and walk towards races cars. I think both are to blame - but again, I am no judge of this event - only one of millions…
People seem to think this is meritless. Not sure why. This is not a criminal murder case. The family only has to show that, more likely than not, Stewart’s negligence (i.e., failing to act reasonably to prevent harm to another) contributed to cause the death. That does not seem like a tough case to make, here (he…
Sidenote - addiction sucks.
Can I get ungreyed?
“In its absence, many young liberals might have confronted the George W. Bush years and engaged in actual political projects, like the campus left of the 1960s.”
You know we had millions of young people march against the Iraq Wars, elected a Democrat to the White House twice in which young people overwhelmingly voted…
Anyone who thinks they are too good to try it should cum off their high horse.
Right??? And that last photo was from just San Francisco. I was at the NYC march. Here is another photo from the DC march. But, yeah, sure, we all just sipped organic lattes all day waiting for Stewart to come on at 11:00 so we could “feel smarter and morally superior in a nation gone crazy.”
yeah, i mean occupy was a thing
I’m familiar with this writer from The Week. This is a horrible opinion, but maybe not even top five of horrible opinions he holds.
It wasn’t too long after he made his mawkish 2004 plea to Tucker Carlson and Paul Begala to “stop hurting America”—and, as a result, became the most celebrated man in TV news—that I decided I’d rather be friends with Carlson instead.
This guy regularly writes cryptofascist crap like this on the Week all the time. I always pictured him saying the crap he writes in a smug Tucker Carlson whine.
You didn’t need to tell us that you were a conservative; it was pretty clear from your tenuous grasp on reality and hilarious self-importance.
The conservative ability to turn literally anything into a self-congratulatory pat on the back...sometimes it’s just fucking incredible to behold.
I love reading articles trashing Stewart, because they are always so terrible that it reminds me that the only people that don’t at least respect Stewart’s influence are two-bit hacks like whoever the fuck wrote this.
“If The Daily Show had any effect on our actual political culture, it was probably to the benefit of conservatives. In its absence, many young liberals might have confronted the George W. Bush years and engaged in actual political projects, like the campus left of the 1960s.”
thats when I stopped reading.
“that I decided I’d rather be friends with Carlson instead.”
No sentient human being would ever say that. Unless they were a humongous douchebag.
