I seem to read more and more pre-1990 fiction as time goes on.
These days I'm mostly reading pre-1990 sci-fi (and fiction in general) because so much new sci-fi is dull or depressing. There is definitely an audience out there for stories with excitement or fun in them.

I care more about internal consistency in stories than accurate science, unarmed combat or battle scenes but that's not to say I don't care at all.
