Overhead lines would be much better than third rail for that kind of implementation. That said at that point you would just wire up the entire line.

This is my commute. There is no air conditioning and Britain has decided to stop having wet and miserable summers. An overcrowded bus would be a luxury and unfortunately my buses aren’t amphibious.  

Your point? They also hold 4 people as opposed to 16. This whole thing was supposed to be a proof of concept and this concept would have a lot more people’s confidence if the only hurdle was scaling up the speed and passenger capacity.
