Oh boy. The thought of something like the Miata with the 500 Abarth exhaust note is making me giddy

Not something I want my dash cam telling me

Original Mercedes CLS. Some aren't fans of the "4-door coupe" niche but, IMO, some of the best looking cars from the german marques were created to cater to the segment.

even better. That would be like Burnie bringing up the back of the field in F1 but taking every corner sidways on full opposite lock.

The driver in the orange truck goes HUGE on every jump. It doesn't matter that they are at the back of the pack, there is your winner right there

I'm sorry, do they still have the legacy gt hidden somewhere that I don't know about? Unless they do, the only way that the Legacy and Camry are different is that the Subaru is AWD (and yes, I do know that is a major selling feature for Subaru. FFS, I own one) Both are automatic only mid-size sedans with an option

only a bit so yes, you do need a small trim piece. Take a look at what you would need in a last gen mazda 3. That almost requires a new dash, not a tiny surround. You really are arguing about less than an inch.

If you are willing to go without a Nav head unit, you can go less than a grand. I would actually keep the stock head unit if it was more powerful/had ports for an amp. But alas, it does not. Subaru's upgraded system for the WRX is also considered to be pretty shitty. So I wouldn't consider it "being cheap" as much

Right. Great point. I must also mention that Subaru does seem to have less standard size systems in their newer redesigns (new legacy and outback). I wouldn't be surprised if the whole line goes that way. Subaru loves their parts bins.

I don't know how necessary integrating HVAC would be in the WRX. If anything, I'd see it as extremely inconvenient compared to the easy to reach/operate controls that are in the car already. However, you certainly can do it if you want.

as another commenter noted, the dash opening is a little bit bigger than Double DIN so a small trim piece is needed. However, the point stands you can slap just about any double DIN unit you want in there. You can certainly do better for the money compared to Subaru's upgrade system

You do but it is a very, very small surround. It isn't like the kits you would need to get for say a last gen Mazda 3 or any current Toyota. All of the stereo controls are on the unit (except the steering wheel). Therefore, no need to cover the gap left by the volume knob.

Yeah, this just screams "money grab" to charge people $50 to diagnose what the light is. Hell, the light goes on even if your gas cap isn't tightened all the way.

Remember when car stereos were swappable? Those days are sadly gone, with touch screens with horrible user interfaces and $2,000 navigation options.

It's not like Ford is good and GM is bad, it's all about the type of products.

I mean, not that I could buy it anyway, but I was kind of hoping for a version with the TT 4.0 V8 putting out around 450 hp. When you start talking about the v10 I would just want the Lambo.

Again, I said it wasn't what I would argue. However, you are a bit optimistic in those claims. With the exception of the WRX/STI and BRZ, manuals are only available in the base or mid-level trims at best. Forester XT? Impreza/ Legacy/ Outback / Crosstrek XV Limited? Nope. Can't do.

Neutral: Would You Buy A Subaru? If you were in the market for a new car would you at least cross-shop it?

1st Gear: I Am Become Subaru, Destroyer Of Brands

That Subaru can sell so many more cars, take advantage of a sinking yen, and also build cars that are exactly what they want to be for the market they want to get is impressive. Volkswagen should just hire everyone great away from Subaru.
