Nope.

I used to live next to a racetrack. Traffic sucked, but the noise was excellent on race days.

The Superbowl will outdraw the race, shut down surround roads, slam the area traffic. But that’s cool I guess.

People will build a house next to a race track and then complain about the noise and get the track shut down. People suck.

As one interview subject asks, “What could be more pointless?”

As someone who grew up in the 70s and 80s, reading Car & Driver and seeing the movies as a kid, I was fascinated by the distinctly it’s-against-all-the-rules-but-I’m-doing-it-anyway mentality of the Cannonballers. The stark reality of actually doing this mad dash is a world away from the comedic Hollywood portrayals,

Okay. In all seriousness:

Wow... It must be really fun in Maine.

“Most cars start getting unreliable just over 100K.”

YES. YES, YES, YES.

I have no idea if it’s true but I was watching some show about Top Fuel and one of the builders said the exhaust is directed upwards because it creates over a thousand pounds of downforce at top rpm. An engine is basically a big air pump so it makes sense but that’s a huge amount of power. The mind boggles.

A laid-off worker from the Great Lakes works said the unemployment benefits of up to $362 a week were not enough to pay her bills.

Having kids is terrible for the environment.

Sounds about right.

It’s the perfect synergy of heart-pounding efficiency, earth-friendly performance and soul-stirring cargo space.

I’m not even at GTI level: that’s 2.5L of straight 5 fury!

I hate you wusses so much. Every day is a fun day, every commute is a fun commute. Hollywood rush hour traffic, heavy aftermarket clutch, aggressive cams, terrible idle, no AC. Every work day is a good day.

I don’t want my entire life to be in the comfort of a climate controlled leatherette living room, that’s

On one hand I agree, driving a manual transmission in traffic(and even an auto) can be tedious, boring and frustrating. However, it still is a period of time every day in which you are not expected to be productive, you aren’t tempted to look at your phone, and you can just sit back and listen to your music and drive,
