Hi Laura.

Aaaaaaand you just killed all the boners of anyone who reads this comment. Thanks for nothing.

At the grocery store I worked at 20 years ago we occasionally got complaints that condoms were just available on the regular shelf instead of locked away somewhere. Imagine a world where anyone can just go into a store, buy condoms, and have sex almost immediately afterward without anyone else knowing or judging them.

Sooo, *can* you actually buy a butt plug at Target now? That seems like a pretty big and important point you left out.

Sneaking off to Mexico while basically everyone in Texas was without power during a freeze. That detail should never be left out.

Let’s add one: the time he got caught sneaking off to Mexico and blamed it on his two daughters. Father of the fucking year.

Interesting he asks for the privacy he just denied for millions of American women. Screw him.

Republicans don’t really care about any social issues, their stances on them are only a means to power and money.

Ted Cruz is simultaneously a maximally awful person to everyone, and someone who obviously doesn’t ever believe a word of what he says. Ivy League guy slumming it with the yokels because nobody is ever too much of a jerk to get elected by Republicans.

I can’t speak to outlets’ decision on what and what not to cover, but the terms Ted Cruz himself has laid out for us all is that what would seem to be personal family matters (whether, when, and under what circumstances to have children, what recreational activities to take your children to, what medical care to

988 is the national suicide and crisis lifeline.

To be more specific. We want him to lose the daughter, but not because she dies. If she needs to live her best life, and disown him, then so be it. But not to her harm, only his.

I mean, if “provides gender affirming care to trans children in consultation with a doctor” is sufficient evidence of abuse to take people’s children from them and throw them in jail, Cruz probably deserves the death penalty for this.

He’s a piece of shit, no need for further proof we already got that years ago.

Yup. I hate Ted Cruz as much as anyone, and surely his parenting and being such a huge and divisive public figure have a lot to do with this young woman’s suffering. But also - she’s 14 and she did not run for public office, so can we not breathlessly cover this? I know we all want to own Ted Cruz, but let’s not do it

Teenage years suck and the added notoriety of being Cruz’s daughter probably makes navigating society a bit harder than it should be. An event like this being plastered over the Internet gives another weapon for people to attack a young woman who has little control over why she’s so notable.

Don’t forget that:

He is a truly terrible human being. That’s it. No more thought pieces, no more “yeah but he was close with his mom when she died”, or “you don’t understand mental illness”. He is an entitled, self absorbed piece of shit.

Not only is it disgusting, but I think the midterms showed that there’s not really much political benefit to degrading trans people and others in the LGBTQ+ community. So it really is just pure shittiness with these folks (and shame on any ostensible liberal who continues with the “maybe we are moving too fast on

Is there something they aren’t saying here? Why would someone contact the school because this guy said in a non-threatening way that he had a gun? And then the school actually follow-up on that “accusation”. As you say, American adults can have guns and lots and lots do.
