Alright, I have to point out that I use Tasker to do the same thing. Why load up with a bunch of unrelated unitasker free apps when you can pay once for Tasker and use it to customize your Android phone to your heart's desire?

I have often seen cashiers take a card that won't swipe, place it inside a plastic shopping bag, swipe and it works. There's definitely something to it but it might depend on the type or thickness of material used to cover the magnetic stripe. A plastic grocery bag is about .0005" thick, so that might be the

The bodies of men and women distribute heat differently. Women keep body heat at the core but lose it at the extremities. Men keep warmer at the extremities. Women's clothing also tends to allow for more body heat loss.

I've always been told to chill the cake for an hour in the refrigerator, then freeze it, then wrap it for transport to keep the icing intact. In the few times that I've had to transport a cake this method has worked fine for me.

On the other hand, I do use Google+ all day and I don't use RSS nearly as much as I used to, so having you guys on G+ is a good bit of lagniappe for me.

I use a carpet rake. It's a fair amount of work (best to wear leather work gloves when using it) but the carpet looks fabulous when done. I like to rake before I vacuum, then vacuum, and rake again. Raking afterward isn't necessary but it removes the vacuum marks.

About 2% of the population has a sensitivity to aspartame (NutraSweet) and will get a headache upon ingesting it.

Now everyone will have this and I'll never be able to get any work done when I travel.

I love SwiftKeyX. I tried the standard Android keyboard, then switched to Swype, then finally landed on SwiftKeyX. SwiftKeyX seems to work best for my typing style and its predictions of my word and phrase usage are right on the mark. My only quibble is that it doesn't always handle hyphenated words well.

I had the same sort of thing happen pretty often as an onsite computer repair guy. I'll never forget the 40-something nurse who sat in a see-lingerie during my service call (yes, I saw everything) or the 50-something store manager who wore a short denim dress and no panties. Crazy things happen on service calls.

I agree with always wearing an undershirt. It's one thing my father taught me and I live by it. Even in hot weather an undershirt wicks sweat away from your body while helping to keep your shirt dry.

Milk will last longer if you store it at the back of your fridge rather than on the door shelf or in the front. Fridge temperature is very stable at the back of the fridge but varies greatly at the front and on the door. When I leave milk on the door shelf it goes bad by the expiration date. When I leave it at the

I worked in an open workspace for about 18 months and hated it. The visual and auditory distractions were not conducive to getting work done. Yes, it was great when collaboration was needed but my job rarely requires collaboration. There was also the inconvenience of seeing when everyone went to the restroom, picked

Vegetable oil also works great for removing stubborn stickers. Get as much of the sticker off as you can, then spread vegetable oil over the remaining sticker and adhesive. Let it sit for a while then rub or scrape it off. I've always found that it comes off quite easily.

I've actually wondered the same thing in regards to taking a bath versus taking a shower. I'd be curious to see what gets left behind when you rinse your dishes using standing water in a basin versus using running water and whether it really matters.

When my a/c was out for 3 days last year I used the Egyptian method combined with 2 box fans. I achieved very significant cooling even with a house temperature in the low 90s.

If you have a 2-basin sink and fill the second basin with rinse water, washing dishes by hand can save water over using a dishwasher. If you do as most people do and use running water to rinse your dishes, a dishwasher will use far less water (about a third as much) as washing dishes by hand.

Somehow this long-press option has gotten disabled on my Samsung Galaxy S and I can't figure out how to re-enable it. Any ideas?

2 hours for me. I wake at 5:30 and hit the shower. After the shower I wake my wife and she showers. While she showers I pack my son's lunch and get started on breakfast. Wife exits shower and finishes breakfast while I iron clothes (& listen to NPR). Wake son and we eat breakfast as a family. Son showers while Mom &

You'd better check with your boss or office manager before bringing a mini-fridge to work. Most workplaces don't allow fridges or coffeemakers in offices or cubicles. Mine allows heaters and fans (since we do have some unusually warm/cool parts of the building) but a mini-fridge is forbidden.
