It's not really painful per say, just uncomfortable. Taking a Motrin or Tylenol prior to the procedure helps to alleviate or prevent painful side effects.

If you're getting a Pap test be sure to take some Motrin about a half hour before your appointment. It curbs the pain a little bit.

Yep! And The Colbert Report studio didn't have an applause light. You could look at a hand signal from the stage manager, but you were pretty much just feeding off of the rest of the audience's reactions.

I went to a taping of The Colbert Report recently, and part of your responsibility as an audience is to laugh and applaud uproariously. It's much weirder than watching it on TV because you feel a lot of pressure to enjoy everything x1000. This audience was much larger than the normal show audience; I'm sure once the
