I really liked the actress playing his wife, and also the British guy playing the oldest daughter's fiancee. I hope he's still coming back.

I was so afraid when I saw the brownstone on fire that either Joan or Sherlock would be trapped inside.
I agree!
Why was this May character taking the place Joan holds in Sherlock's life? His confidant, sounding board, partner? I was puzzled about the case he was preoccupied with. Did he take a case without her?
I hate how Joan has been rejecting Sherlock's expressions of emotions all season. She may as well move out again. A proud man as we know S. is, surely interpreted Joan's continued communication with Shinwell as a betrayal. One he can only tolerate because of his love for her.
No domestic scenes at the brownstone between Holmes and Watson, so I can't grade this very high….
The episode seemed slow to me and we're supposed to care about Chantal's attack because it reminds Sherlock of the pain of losing Irene?maybe Shinwell did it…..
Joan gifting Sherlock with a matching bench would have been a fitting ending.hated that the viewers were once again shut out from seeing a reaction scene with Joan and Sherlock regarding his injuries….. but the "no emotion shown" rule must still be in effect….
Me too. My daughter, who has always suffered my obsession with classic Hollywood, is watching avidly and actually questions me about how much is factual.
Am I the only viewer who thinks Catherine Zeta Jones is more beautiful than Olivia Dehavilland was? Olivia was a great actress but had a round face and very hooded deep set eyes.
What about the hypocrisy of the red carpet where actresses bristle about being asked about their appearance (Who are you wearing), yet have whole teams working on their appearance, starve themselves, and are only concerned about hair makeup jewelry, gowns etc.
I remember Celeste Holm meeting BD on the set of All About Eve and Bette dismissed her praise with something like "Oh God,one of the polite ones" . I don't think BD was beloved by castmates and crew like say Barbara Stanwyck.
Wonder if it was hard for Bancroft to get the Oscar statue from Joan!?
Oh God I hope not but would make for an interesting group of shows.
If Joan "no one hurts my Sherlock" defends Shinwell after this, I may be sick….
His voice sounded unusually deep.
The NSA contact is Agent McNally, wonderfully played by Tim Guinee. I would love to see more of him.
Wasn't JLM's real life wife a guest star? Funny, they didn't have near the chemistry he has with his co star.
I'm glad Kitty's gone, she brings out the worst in the Sherlock/Joan dynamic. I don't believe those two have any fondness for one another, based on the last 2 seasons interactions.let alone being soul mates and loving one another.
Really hope you are wrong…..Sherlock seemed to be a parental protective figure to Kitty….the thought of them hooking up seems distasteful to me.This would be soap opera territory for a show like Elementary.
