i literally went "oh, good" to myself and then had a moment where i wondered about my humanity.

I KNEW IT but then I kind of wanted to be surprised just it case it wasn't.

The only problem is that her director didn't rein her in. Faye was magnetic and also terrifying when she needed to be.

That tracking shot was impressive. Also i'm shocked that you could just openly pass through the men's room and Joan warmly touched the back of the dude at the urinal.

I don't like to think so but I'm certain I'm just as petty as Joan was in this episode. The only difference is that I probably would have cackled like a witch on cocaine when I came home with that Oscar. It was a world-class lesson in getting under someone's skin.

ha, i just posted the same thing!

It was Gloria Swanson who was robbed in 1950, not youuuuuuuUUUUUUU,…BITCH!

I'm speaking to the *Disney* version, aka the one in this very same article. I don't know about other versions but that Stockholm syndrome thing being slapped on this one is totally out of place.

"you know this Stockholm syndrome romance by heart."

Mine was similar in that she was horrified by how garish she looked and how it's all come to this in her stage of life career.

I get why Joan was upset and left that screening but did Bette also feel revolted by herself on screen to the point of tears?

For both of their men, I was like "you go, girl".

No disrespect to Jessica but I would have given up all my civil liberties to have Faye Dunaway come back as Joan.

I feel like he's great casting because he was a fixture in the 90's.

Honestly, Archie being all Tom Ripley by being intentionally boring and taking over Jason's look would be everything.

I loved her school outfit which was black but with little deep purple/red flowers making up the collar. The girls dress so well. lol.

I feel like realistically, people should so be over Cheryl's melodramatic ass but as a viewer, i was *right there* with Kevin.

the "ooooooooh" ghostly sound effect when they cut to her at the dinner table killed me.

I loved the final shot. It's the Queen being all regal, looking directly in the camers and giving you all the "you can't touch this" that you can handle like a simple glamour shot but behind that facade, we now know the immense burden that it took her to get to that moment and the real weight of the crown on her head.

Phillip was really terrible in bringing up that thing about competition for her dead father's affection. I would have went batshit too.
