Joe Bob really informed my foray into the weird world of b movies. And Rhonda Shear was a personal favorite. Sure, she was smokin' hot but she was also funny. Gilbert Gotfried too! I loved that era of late night horror hosts.

Yeah, you can get whiplash if you read them back to back. Engelhart's run is wild too but in a different way. Those are two of my favorite Cap runs.

So did USA Up All Night take over the overnight time slot for Night Flight? I seem to recall it started in 1988, which would make sense. God I loved Up All Night, especially with Rhonda Shear hosting (va-va-voom!). I was a little too young to catch Night Flight, but I did occasionally and it was mind blowing to a

Yeah that was my impression and why I went from that one being towards the top of my list to now not interested in it.

Yep, you are that. Don't feel bad though. I have a bunch of Essentials and a Blue Beetle Showcase volume at home that I'm currently reading in small doses or hoping to read in the near future. So, table for two with at the old folks home, my friend.

Same here. I do buy way too many trades as it is, but they tend to be Image books or collecting old runs I either love or never read before.

Had my hands on a Jonah Hex Showcase Presents once years ago, it was dirt cheap at a used book store. Stupidly I put it back.

I've read several reviews of the Superman and Batman Rebirth issues and frankly they both sound like underwhelming messes. I might pick up the Green Arrow and Wonder Woman Rebirth issues, though. But will I continue reading each, twice a month at 6 bucks per series, 12 bucks for both? My bank account is saying "No,

So you're reading Kirby's "Madbomb" story in Cap now? Oh man that's a helluva fun read. Very weird, like you say.

2 Civil 2 War

"a fucking flimsy pamphlet of crap."

I absolutely loved the deluxe edition. I thought it was a terrific format for the story, the art really popped off the pages, and the back matter/bonus features were just amazing. Getting to read Cooke's thoughts on the series and how he went about creating it and bringing it to life was worth the price alone. I bet

The Darwyn Cooke memorial reread continues. I finished his Minutemen story and started his and Amanda Conner's Silk Spectre. Loved the first one, found it actually quite moving in parts. So far I'm digging the groovy '60s feel of Silk Spectre's mini series. I have Graphic Ink waiting for me next. I'm really excited to

That was terrifying to read, actually. Absolutely chilling. I hope it's all just an awful joke.

I used to listen to the main Nerdist Podcast often but I've fallen off my podcasting listening lately. My favorite podcast is WTF with Marc Maron.

No.

I second giving Fearless Defenders a try. It's one of my favorite series of recent years.

Chabon, really? He's probably my favorite author but I hadn't heard this. Now I'm curious…

Now that might help me remember!

You know, you keep mentioning Bandette on here and I keep going "Yes I must read that!" Then I go home and forget all about it until the next time you mention it. Argh!
