I gave up on the Nerdist Comics Podcast for a few reasons: they didn't seem to have new episode as often as other podcasts I like and often times I wasn't interested in their topics. Oh, and then there was Len Wein. He's awful on that podcast. It's painful.

Thanks!

I wasn't even aware of that one. I'll have to look into it.

Yeah and I didn't read those.

I'm not sure I have much brand loyalty for any comics publisher at the moment. With Marvel and DC it's because I've loved them for so long but they continue to disappoint me of late, so I'm a lot less inclined to jump on board with their books at the moment. I like several of their current series, don't get me wrong,

Didn't get to the LCS this week but I'm contemplating picking up a few of the Rebirth issues next week, or maybe just buying them digitally. I really need to continue on cutting down on single issues - for cost and space reasons. So we'll see. I'm most interested in the Green Arrow Rebirth issue, frankly. What I've

That was a really entertaining and informative interview, I thought.

I find Comic Geek Speak fun for the big, character or book specific episodes they do - I think they call them "Spotlights." They had a killer Power Man and Iron Fist one, as well as a really comprehensive Black Panther one recently.

I like those two also but I've fallen way off on listening to them lately, just been too busy. The Wait..What? podcast is another I enjoy, although they can meander a bit and sometimes but they are smart guys and they cover a wide range of comics and the industry as a whole.

Besides that awkwardly posed Red Robin, I really really like this cover.

I just have to add here that another favorite Schrader flick from that era is Blue Collar, with Harvey Keitel, Richard Pryor, and Yaphet Kotto. I think it was Schrader's directorial debut. That's also a helluva movie and worth looking for if you haven't seen it.

Linda Haynes was great in this! She has just the right amount of off-kilter weirdness in her performance to make it really memorable.

I saw this for the first time last year and it left me speechless. It's such a powerful film, and really articulates - through inarticulate characters - just how fucked up and damaged these men were. That scene where Jones says he'll just get his gun is just chilling. I like that Tom pointed out how Jones makes a

I mostly hate on the movie because, to me, it did a terrible job of retelling/reinterpreting the Dark Phoenix Saga. Now, that's my favorite comics story, so take my opinions on this with a grain of salt. I also think it's a mess of a movie that's overstuffed with characters and plot and therefore does a major

I would have been right there annoying those patrons with you. Love Excalibur, love Rachel.

You make X3 sound much better than I think it is (and I don't think it's good at all). You deserve kudos for that, my friend!

That's one and a quarter Tom Cruises.

I like this pick. Sorry Brie, Katheryn's got the edge here.

Agreed, I was digging The Wolverine until that third act when I just couldn't help but groan. Still, if either of the Wolverine solo movies is on cable, I'm stopping on that channel to watch again. I find both of them very very enjoyable and I love re-watching them whenever they're on. I can't say that about many of

I picked up that Before Watchmen trade recently also and am looking forward to reading it for the first time too. I finished my New Frontier reread last night but still have to reread the Justice League: The New Frontier Special issue that's included with the Deluxe Edition. The Deluxe Edition is wonderful; there is
