Yeah, if I remember AWO does tear down the myth of the self organising network so it also kind of pushes against the feeling that we can use leaderless social media to overthrow regimes and expect everything to turn out fine and dandy.

I watched The use and Abuse of Vegetational Concepts again. It's the second of the 3 part Adam Curtis doc All Watched Over by Machines of Love and Grace. It's really good, and is available for free on the thought maybe site.
Agreed. For me, It was like the true show only popped out 3 episodes in. Partly because I think It needed to lay the groundwork in the first two Episodes. During these it felt (to me) like a murder of the week thing. But then the show sort of tells you that its not going to be about that, which is groovy.
Started watching the Hannibal TV show. I was sort of lukewarm on it at first. I liked how they introduced the titular character while keeping the series' focus elsewhere, but I wasn't especially enthralled by the murder of the week stuff. But it really clicked with Potage. That's when I knew it was going to be…
Pleased to see Wolf Hall represented. Mark Rylance was brilliant as Cromwell, and I'm glad they mentioned Anne Boleyn. Claire Foy really deserves more praise for her layered portrayal.
“You ever bully or hurt anybody again, I’ll come back and butt-fuck your
father with your mom’s headless corpse on this goddamn lawn” actually sounds like something the character would say. Although it looks kinda goofy written down, Farrell's delivery sells it nicely. Made me grin, anyway!
Really enjoyed reading that, Thank you. They didn't really focus on the fiddler that much in The Bounty, but his life story itself seems like it would make for a cracking film. The weird thing about A Most Wanted Man (film version) is that it seemed like it was adapted from a short story instead of a novel. It felt…
Great film and a solid review. i love The thing. You can feel the paranoia as you watch and it also doubles as a great character study of men in the workplace.
I saw A Most Wanted Man which proved watchable primarily because of PSH, but was otherwise pretty forgettable. Caught The Bounty with old Tony Hopkins doing his best blustering Bligh and Gibbo giving the English accent the old college try. Vangeilis soundtrack actually rather good and the film a modest success. Liam…
It's a solid game. To me, PM's Podrace felt like it was only included to spawn videogame tie-ins anyway, so we're just lucky we got a middling to good one amongst all the crap.
Simon Callow's Welles biography The Road to Xanadu includes a very thorough and detailed account of the making of Kane. I'd definitely give it a look if you're interested in the man, the movie, or both.
Through a combination of bumping into some nice folks online and also having some friends who own the game I usually play GTA online with people who are miked, competent and pleasant to chat with. It really does transform the experience.
Not confused really, just bored. Got about halfway though and wasn't really interested in the characters or the plot. I think I shall persevere and see if the series bites me later on.
Watched some Toast of London. I do love Matt Berry. Just dipped in and out of favourite episodes. Although it goes a little saggy towards the end of season 2 the writing is superb throughout. "He might mention Boris Johnson, but not in the context of a joke" "How is that possible?"
I want No Man's Sky, If it's as good as I think it'll be…
"This has been a story you probably regret wasting time on." Not at all. A most enjoyable read. And with footnotes too!
Saw Nightcrawler. Great lead turn from JG who plays a genuinely creepy sociopath. The film also works as an indictment of the 'if it Bleeds, it leads' TV news culture. I also hoovered up the entire season 4 of Curb. I love how dense the plotting is. The Weatherman episode was pretty great.
Did any restrictions you ran into actually inspire you to be more creative in your approach to game design? If so, how?
Thank you :)
Excellent article. I'd grown to like Stannis as well. Awkward.
