Lovely young woman with a great attitude. Now, if you'll excuse me, I must have a brownie in a mug.

I think this series has gotten consistently better over the course of eight episodes. But the ratings aren't great. I don't think Fox's decision to air it on Friday night was such a good idea. Any other night would have been better. I doubt it will get a second season, and that's disappointing because it's well-acted

I don't know about the brainwashing, but listening to this for the first time in ages, I feel like Foster the People's "Pumped Up Kicks" is a direct descendant.

I always liked the museum sequence in Dressed to Kill, too. After I saw Vertigo for the first time I realized that DePalma had obviously used its museum segment as inspiration. I think of Dressed to Kill as a brazen mashup of Psycho and Vertigo.

I would like to have seen him talk about Candace from the feminist bookstore on Portlandia.

I own this album. I think I should frame it.

I played the fuck out of his Working Class Dog album. It was one of those weird instances where something looks like it's pitched for teenage girls, but resonates with guys.

I always think I'm the only one who remembers this song. Thank you for being the other person who remembers this song. Everybody sing (in falsetto)!
Maybe she'll find an island
With a shady tree
Just like the one in our backyard

Considering the pedigree of this show (lots of names from the credits of Friends), I'm surprised Robert didn't react to Sol's concern about his hook up with the caterer by yelling, "We were on a break!"

I tend to read a lot of articles about the shows I watch and I've never read a single word about some on-set friction between Margulies and Panjabi. I've watched since the first episode, so here are the observations I'd make. First, Alicia and Kalinda bonded and it was all good. Then came the revelation that Kalinda

Did anyone else notice this episode was directed by Jared Harris? Yep, Mr. Lane "I hanged myself at the office" Pryce.

Characters get killed off on all kinds of shows on every network these days. She didn't invent primetime death. I really don't know why you're picking on Shonda Rhimes.

Caleb is doomed, probably followed by Professor "Do you want to sleep with your mother, Norman?"

I've always found the Glen Bishop character (and his obsession with Betty) fascinating. It was shocking to see how much puberty had changed him. And I just assumed that his thread would be addressed by series end. I thought it was a pretty creepy/satisfying part of an excellent episode.

I know people who think this movie is hilarious. I hated it even as I sat in the theater watching it.

Someone has to ask: What the hell is wrong with Harry Crane?

Prediction for next week: Norma flees to the safety of Bearded Community College Psychology Professor Guy. After all, he did slip her his card in the diner and say, "Call me anytime." And then they'll either sleep together or he'll do a family intervention.

I always hoped for a Stan Rizzo-Bob Benson hook up. Bob Benson's crush (or whatever it was) on Pete Campbell was definitely unsexy.

Mr. Ferguson: You're beard is epic. I salute you, sir!

Yup, I'm apparently the one person on Earth who thinks The Reader is a fine film and Winslet is extraordinary in it. She was also amazing in Revolutionary Road, released the same year.
