This was a case of two episodes that really should have been just one episode.

I think it was supposed to be a matter of perspective. i.e., you were looking from behind the Roci towards Eros further off in the distance. But I agree, they weren't entirely successful with the effect.

Io9's review of Leviathan Wakes (the first in the series) calls it the nearest thing to a summer blockbuster movie in book form. I think that's a pretty fair characterization. They are a lot of fun to read. The first few books are pretty light, but as the series goes on, they are becoming more thoughtful.

Zack, I appreciate your reviews—they are well-written, thoughtful, and pick up on a lot of the nuances of the show. But you should really, REALLY read the books too.
