Am I the only one who's level of interest in this movie dropped a few steps after that trailer?

I liked The Wolverine because it took time to explore the characters but with the right amount of action. Unlike the other X-men movies it seemed to establish a world. Singer's X-men and Superman movies seemed to be confined to small soundstages and never feel populated.
I'm probably one of the few people who didn't like Spiderman 2. I tink the superhero spectacle is great but I find the character stuff to be a slog to get through , I just found Tobey's Peter Parker to much of a wet blanket that was it was hard to enjoy those parts of the movie.
I think that's what we get with the X-men movies to be honest.
Mr Glass died on the way back to his home planet
Is it possible they are going the Super Boy clone route with this casting?
To me the best sequence in Phantom Menace is the Qui-gon Darth Maul fight in the desert, There is a sense of urgency not present in the rest of the movie and it's pretty dynamically edited and filmed in a real location. I'm sure someone else must have directed that scene.
That entire sequence from the time Sam Jackson and nameless guys show up, until Vader gets his name is visual dull and really should have been reshot, it looks like a rehearsal.
I would have liked to seen Courscant explored more. It was fun to see more urban environments in the Prequels, but it was a bit of a disappointment that we mostly got small rooms or offices as settings. Even the Jedi Temple was nothing more then a round room, it might have been nice to learn what the Jedi trials were…
It's also frustrating how unplanned the trilogy turned out. Lucas knew he was making 3 movies but there doesn't seem to even been an overview. The Phantom Menace is like some bizzare prologue that has no effect on anything that happens in the next 2 movies.
I think if I could change one thing about the Prequels it would be to have Lucas go out of his comfort zone and hire some top notch crew for his films, including another quality writer. The prequels were basically made by the Young Indy crew. The one area they didn't pull from was the writers team on Indy. Utilize the…
The Pod Race has the same issue, it's a fun sequence but it's too long, contains too many goofy characters and it stops the narrative dead. All the characters we have been following till now are left to the sidelines.
Revenge of Sith spent a good 75% of the movie on Courscant , most of it in apartments and offices. It's an incredibly small feeling movie. The best looking character in the whole movie is the guy who greets Obi Wan on Utapu, he looks like the most StarWarsy character in thePT but has one line of dialogue and is gone…
Attack of the Clones is a movie where the screenplay was in bad need of being refined. We have a script that has a changeling assassin who doesn't use this ability, Anakin and Padme having to go undercover to avoid detection , which goes nowhere, and the stuff regarding Sifo Dyas which is never brought up again.
The example I like to use is the scene where Luke is heading out on Hoth and says goodbye to Han. Luke is on the ground while Han is up welding part of the falcon, the characters are actively involved with the environment, in the prequels they would have said good bye while sitting on a couch.
To be fair they sometimes sit on couches and talk.
I know, that was the first thing that stood out to me in TPM was Sidious just appearing the middle of the ships bridge.
I liked that fight, simply because it was in unique environment. I wish it had lasted longer.I agree with other poster that the light saber battle at the end of AOTC was terribly filmed.
Putting aside Jar Jar's personality and voice, how in the hell did anyone ever approve the design of Jar Jar?
I can tell you why my opinion changed, while TPM ends up being boring , it has the lightsaber duel and the pod race, and aside from some dull staging of shots it's competently made. ATOC has no interesting sequences, has terrible script that has no consistency throughout , is poorly edited, has some terrible vfx work,…
