Mmmm…sacrelicious
Buzz is the Two Jakes worth it at all? I love Chinatown but I've always been hesitant to ruin it with the Two Jakes if its that bad. Like Godfather 3, while not 1 or 2, really wasn't the atrocity it's hyped to be (it just happens to not be the greatest movie of all time, like one could argue for either 1 or 2). Is Two…
Yea the first thing I thought when I read Sonia's bit was "And you work for the AV Club?" Shouldn't Rabin like kidnap her and force her to watch seasons 1-9 clockwork orange style?
Broccoli, I completely agree. The only fiction books I've read that weren't for a college course over the last 5 years were the last three Song of Ice and Fire books cause the show was so good. Aside from that, dusty tomes all the way! Currently work on a very dense history of the Germanic people's interaction with…
Yea watching the new episodes for me is depressing rather than upsetting. You'll watch and every few episodes there might be one joke that would of made it into the classic era and you'll think "Wow this is a good later era episode!"
And Goldeneye. And Super Smash Bros. Really the N64 was the greatest multiplayer system of all time.
Yeah! Kids these days don't have the prose style they did back in DoD multiplayer in 1999!
Rome 2 is coming out pretty soon as well and Rome 1 was the best (in my opinion) one they ever made. I'm seriously thinking of skipping the next console gen to return to PC and Rome 2 is a major reason why.
Agreed. Watche the first on Netflix, and it was tame even compared to Hostel 1 (ugh that girls eye). The mad scientist is great fun, but the movie as a whole is pretty bad and not very disgusting. Haven't seen 2 and I probably won't until 3 comes out and everyone who sees 3 says 2 was tame in comparison lol
This was basically my experience. I was the right age for the first 3 books, then read #4 when it came out and didn't even bother after that
Just gotta play the right strategy games.
2Fast2Furious was clearly the worst one in my opinion. 3 was fun in a "this is all so ridiculous" way, 4 was serious, kinda reset the serious, while 5 was a good heist movie. 2 lacks the crucial Vin Diesel element, while Tyrese was just fucking stupid.
Showed up at my friends place and he was watching Tommy Boy on a 55' and for some reason it just looked…wrong. Just realized today it must have been the motion smoothing cause it made it look like a cheap soap opera.
I agree with that, considering Lucy basically invented the dominant form of TV programming (Sitcoms) for 50-60 years ( until the mid2000s when it was usurped by reality or pseudo-reality). I mean, the Simpsons wouldn't exist without Lucy considering its a Sitcom, just one that undermines the form.
Seeeee my vest! See my vest, made from real gorilla chest!
Probably the Beatles, Rolling Stones, and Dylan musically. Film wise, Star Wars or maybe Jaws. TV, limited to the 20th century, I Love Lucy and Leave it to Beaver maybe? MASH? There are probably a few others I'm leaving out, but classic Simpsons would have to rank somewhere in the top 10, so hyperbole is justified
You can call me Ray. Or you can call me Jay.
You have to enjoy Tokyo Drift on a so bad it's great kind of attitude. The main guy (who also played Mike Winchell in The FNL movie) so obviously can't act at all that its a trip. Imagine it as a FNL 2 where the star QB left for Tokyo.
