"Now, Hannibal…if all the other sartorially splendiferous jumped off a bridge, would you? "…
This episode had the usual juxtaposition of beautiful cinematography and ugly violence, but there was another hideous image that made me avert my eyes…..NO man can look suave, debonair and cultured in a black and white striped suit and a big bow tie. Not even Mads could pull that off…in that scene he looked like…
Ok, back here now. Isn't Lady E an absolute delight? She brings out the writer in me. And what kind of cosmic configuration linked the 3 of us as people having longer convos wtith each other???
I just watched Bernie (finally) and really enjoyed it. Sometimes when I watch Jack Black I realize I'm smiling idiotically,…
Good thing it does, or I'd definitely have to give up on it. Sounds like we're birds of a feather! (And I'm going to beat someone to the punch by saying what kind of bird…Bawk-Bawk-BawKAH!!!)
I readily admit I'm a bit of a panty waist when it comes to gore and violence. I've almost ditched this show before, but keep watching for the beauty in so much of it. But it's sort of like watching a tennis match; torrents of blood? Look far to the left at how peacefully the cat is sleeping….mention of Botticelli?…
It is hard to imagine. After all, Hannibal deplores crudity and vulgarity in any form…on any level…about anything. It's just so uncouth and impolite.
Come to think of it, he would find many of these comments…distasteful.
Ha! Ingenious, sir! I'm angry at myself for not thinking of it. Especially as I was complaining about what I feel to be overuse of the imagery.
What a marvelous (and wildly entertaining) reply! I want to check on something before responding to a couple of things you mentioned (she said cryptically)…might take me another day or so.
I'm glad you found him! He's a little chubbier than your bear…and I still say yours appears to be smiling…but the fact that he's actively waving, well I just had to point him out to you. They're both adorable.
It's funny, but I was a newbie on Disqus, too, when I first replied to you and commented on the bear..it was…
Hey, I remember telling you once that I thought your avatar was so cute. Over on Squid, on the subject "Current Status: New Mods" they featured a gif that looks like your avatar come to life. Have you seen it? He's so cute, another member and I had to comment on him specifically. You must see!
His believability is impressive…and makes it a little harder to uh..stomach.
Hey, Sweetie! Actually, that "sweetie" you mentioned was directed at an older lady (I think) in Canada who had made a very kind comment after seeing a mention of my handicapped pets. But I don't discriminate, males are often on the receiving end of these silly little endearments. I almost called you "honey" one time…
Interesting perspective! I love how his intellect shows through in all his work (especially his stand-up comedy). Fun on talk shows, too. A supercut of their scenes together…terrific idea.
It truly does. Beautifully put! Sums up why I find those scenes so affecting. And I like seeing Hannibal a little disconcerted…he's usually so glacially self-confident.
Ha! "Chewing on the house"…how perfectly descriptive, as they seem to think everything in a house is there to be gnawed upon (or "flipped and tossed")! Makes me miss such little escapades..gonna have to eventually add another to my multi-pet household.
Hi, fellow bunny lover! I assumed it was fake but still was bothered by it. I'm glad I didn't know, at that moment, that it was real. Poor little innocent…
Yep, but I think perhaps he's over-doing it a little. Slow motion blood dripping. …followed by slow motion wine dripping…followed by slow motion water dripping..repeat…etc. As visually arresting as this show is (and it's beautiful to look at), seems they could use a little less of that particular imagery.
Having had pet rabbits, I was so horrified by the close-up of its little face that I closed my eyes before the drop fell…looked too real to me (what I saw, anyway).
I either forgot that or missed more of his back-story than I thought. Not exactly a normal person, but it's still just so awful (plus maybe liking the actor himself makes me more sympathetic).
Excellent strategy, might have to adopt it myself.
