That's one of my points. Innocents are still killed. We haven't evolved enough.

Your arrival at work in such splendor would surely impress your coworkers, and get the day off to a rousing start.
And another thing….every time we've seen Ragnar since his injuries (and possible infections) he's been coughing up blood, wheezing, groaning, etc. How would he have remained silent during Lagertha's, Rollo's and Floki's farewells….and the slow procession into the cathedral?
It seems strange, but Old English sounded more Germanic or Teutonic than the form of French spoken at that time.
Of course it takes time, and as a life-long student of history (especially medieval and the ancient world) I'm aware of how long it's taking. We've definitely evolved, but there's plenty of room for improvement and it's a shame it can't go faster.
Yeah, a different world. Elizabeth's childhood (from what they've told us) was one of deprivation and constant propaganda as opposed to Paige's typical American teenage lifestyle….makes for different coping mechanisms.
Ha! The last time I heard a good Curt Jurgens reference was on an episode of "Angel". Love it.
Power….and then some. They were so well suited to each other in season 1….seems so long ago.
It gets complicated, doesn't it….and is applicable to so many aspects of history and human behavior.
As a heterosexual female I second that. When this show premiered I was unfamiliar with Travis Fimmel and wondered where he came from. Googled him and wasn't surprised he'd had a successful career as a model. Pretty impressive transition from model to actor who can hold one's attention with even more than just good…
Okay….now you've made me startle the cat again.
Guess he has to recuperate first. I've always wanted them to get back together. Maybe next season there will be a lusty reunion.
Although I may chuckle occasionally, Vikings is not usually a show that gets a guffaw out of me. But when the Emperor Charles hit the floor I startled the cat. Hope someone had smelling salts handy.
A gentleman, indeed.
Count Odo has turned out to be quite odious. Sorry….couldn't help myself.
Ha! Truer words never spoken! And so many good points.
Can't condone spies (or soldiers ) on any side deliberately killing innocent civilians or engaging in excessive brutality. It's called committing atrocities. Unfortunately it happens on both sides of any conflict, but it's crossing a big line. When Elizabeth forced the elderly woman to kill herself (after listening…
Hey, thanks.
Wonder if by the end of the series she'll be stone cold dead? Y'know, like the elderly lady and so many others and more yet to come.
Sometimes those moments are called for. I know what you mean. Substance over explosions. I like shows that make you think. And I'm sure I'll like it.
