I agree. I really wish we got to see Maggie more developed, and more tied into the 'main plot' (although there is barely any of that this season, especially the second half), and not just as Alex's girlfriend. I would personally much rather have them drama together, that is tied to the plot, than just relationship

I definitely agree with you on the WoC casting, just not because Maggie was originally WoC, but because if they try to win points by casting diverse characters, they should actually do it.

That is half true actually. Detective Maggie Sawyer was actually white in the comics, it was just one of the producers (Kreisberg) saying they cast a latina actress to play her, who turned out to be Floriana. But it's never actually stated on the show either, that she is latinx, just that she is 'non-white'.
Not saying

I am not sure she will be back this season, but I think she will probably be back for whenever they have a series finale, to maybe reflect on how far both Kara and SG came, as long as they actually know they are writing the series finale, not just cut off suddenly

For the record, as I said, I would have just as much problem with anyone, J'onn, James, Maggie, etc. taking this much time, on a show called Supergirl.

Lol, I know he was technically replaced by Snapper Carr, but have you actually seen any heartfelt, important conversation between him and Kara? Yes, the editor in chief/Kara's boss position has been filled with him, but related to Kara, it has been not.
In season 1, Cat was one of the strongest influencers on both

I don't think they should have kept James and Kara together. They had no romantic chemistry, and it would have been boring as fuck. BUT, that doesn't mean that replacing a strong brave black dude, by a whiny white fratboy almost entirely (not just as Kara's love interest) is okay. I don't think it was done because

Oh, I don't think it's problematic to break up an interracial couple, just by itself. James and Kara had zero romantic chemistry, and if they tried to drag it throught the series, it would have totally killed the show.
What I think is problematic, is basically replacing a strong brave black dude, by a whiny white

I don't think it's a conspiracy, I think you can't actually "ignore" people's race and sexual identity, when you are talking about representation. You might not "see" Mon-el as a straight white male, but he is, you might not care that J'onn and James are black, but they are, and you might not care Maggiea and Alex are

"Fun" fact: Mon-el has 3 minutes more screen-time this episode than Kara (Y) (21 vs 18)

I understand why Cat to go (even though I really wish she didn't), but I think one of the main problems with Mon-el is that they replaced Cat with him, and they replaced the majority of the Danvers sisters' relationship with him, and they replaced even the superfriends with him, and basically we barely see Kara

Exchaning Cat Grant for Mon-el is switching in your Bentley for a walmart scooter

Maggie has literally about 2 minutes of storyline per episiode, while Mon-el has 20. It would be crazy to complain about that. (Someone did actually take a stopwatch, so I am not even just pulling this out of my ass).

It's not only James that was pushed aside to make space for Mon-el, it's Maggie, M'gann, Lena, and at times, even Kara herself. Not to mention the characters are continously dumbed down/made OOC to prop him up

I really hope they don't turn Lena into a villain. It would be so predicatble. I hope she gets to really make a name for herself, apart from being a Luthor.

I have somethign for you to look at:

oh but it's not. Kara's speaking time has been cut in almost half, while mon-el's screentime has DRASTICALLY grown, to the point where he has the second most now. Kara literally didn't have any consistent arc this season, apart from "mentoring" him.

I like Chris Wood a lot, but can't stand Mon-el. But he would be a very interesting villain, actually, although the CW's never gonna go there

100% agree, especially since he seems to really have limited creativity with the stories he chooses to tell with them

I am sorry, but again, this show is about Kara. She is the main character, this is her story. Her whole season storyline has been about mentoring Mon-el, arguing with Mon-el, trying to convince Mon-el to be a decent person (and then finally, being romanced by Mon-el). To use Jenny Schecter legendary quote, "It's not a
