Comic book spoilers below, apologies to everyone who already saw my dumbass verbal vomit.

That's all true. But the way he words it erases the experience of black women, black gay people, and black trans people. Are they not meant to air their grievances "in front of black people" either? Seems like an awkward proposition.

Caputo's problem isn't that he's not a 'nice guy'; for the most part, he is. His issue is that he's one of those 'nice guys' who feels like he deserves a reward just for being a nice guy, and gets all bitter and angry when no one's handed him a Basic Human Decency medal. In a different universe, he could be one of

Only thing I don't like at all about the new trend towards streaming tv is that it seems to be extending the amount of time between seasons to an almost insane degree. I'm worried that it could damage some otherwise very good shows just through natural viewer attrition.

Without spoiling too much, things are actually relatively calm for a while after this. At least if they mostly follow the comic.

Two things: It's not a given that Negan is a "monster". All he knows about Rick's group is that they've murdered probably a literal ton worth of his guys. In response, he murders two. Makes one hell of a point to them in the process. Prevents further death, helps ensure the survival of his people. Not too long ago,

Very true. His tears were always weird to me, though. Always looked like his characters had milk leaking out of their tear ducts…

Pretty much. Normally I enjoy Tarantino dialogue, but that scene in the bar towards the beginning just dragged on for ages.

Oh, thanks, much appreciated. Have to look for some other older eps while I'm at it, there's a few I wouldn't mind listening to again.

I mean more, at least if you listened to his podcasts at the time, when he started attributing Every Great Thing & Thought in his life to weed. Red State was the first film to come out after that.

I loved it. In retrospect it was an obvious twist, but just for that moment, watching it, you're thinking "Holy shit, the psychopath was right, the Apocalypse is goin' down" aaaaand nope. Just hippie trolls over the hill.

Hrm. Tried to look up the WTF podcast with Hardwick, forgot that Maron put all the old episodes behind a paywall. Ah well.

Not really. I didn't enjoy Mallrats nearly as much as every other Smith fan seems to, but always liked Clerks, Dogma, J&S Strike Back, and thought Zack & Miri was really fun. Post-Red State though, the idea of his films haven't really grabbed me. I've got no real interest in watching Justin Long get body horrored into

Only bit of Death Proof I liked was the final car chase, otherwise the whole thing just felt interminable. Plus part of me worries Tarantino took that fake severed foot home with him.

Cop Out wasn't his. Can't recall who wrote the script and can't be bothered to look it up, but I at least remember that much.

imo, his first post-'pothead' film, Red State, was actually pretty watchable. Loved the ending.

To be fair, Smith's side of that story has it that they didn't get along because Willis was a huge diva asshole, constantly showed up late, and didn't care much for that whole 'direction' thing coming from the director.

Just to jump in, he says that because what I can only guess is a white dude saying "Man, I wish this rare-as-hell black dude leading a television show would just stop talking about race so much. Jeez" is pretty close to as dense as it gets. Q.E.D.

Psh, you're all wrong. Sour Cream is clearly Pink Diamond.

Admittedly, I have not watched any Gravity Falls yet. I should probably change that. As to Adventure Time… I love me some AT. Loooooove. But it doesn't hit those same notes as hard as SU does.
