I wasn't aware of the extent of Macek's involvement with the Studio Ghibli library but that really, really sucks.

I know this may be blasphemy around these parts (and others), but Uncle Carl actually did a pretty great job of gluing together 3 unrelated animes and creating a narrative that far exceeded the sum of its parts. He may have been a dick but he had vision.
It is not up to me to establish the parameters of experimentation nor the definition of "rape culture". It is up to the person who makes the positive claim that "rape culture" exists to verify its existence.
If you are making a scientific claim you need to have empirical evidence to support said claim. You present your evidence and then a discussion can be had to test the veracity of the claim.
Can you provide statistical evidence to back up your claim that "rape culture" exists? "So many other stories" is not a metric. It's impossible to change minds without providing evidence that supports your position.
This looks like it may be the best post-Prequel installment to the saga yet (yes, yes… not exactly high praise). While I loved The Force Awakens I did have some issues with it (the Starkiller weapon… ugh…) and the plot. I'll forgive them on the latter though as it's pretty clear they were given a very predictable…
What if jerking of was your job?
I can think of worse ways to go than while jerking off.
Jackie Brown is absolutely a "lesser" Tarantino film. I would also argue that Reservoir Dogs is right near the top.
Someone needs to sort this out.
Of course, consciousness may just be an illusion…
And while we're at it, why even terminate the source? Why not create a clone at another location and keep the original around while you're at it?
I don't think I want to know what "it" is if Kendrick Lamar is supposed to be "it".
It was close to Tolkien as we were likely to get at that point (word on the street is that Lucas was trying to secure the rights to Tolkien's work) and it hit all of the right fantasy notes in my brain while not straying too far from the Star Wars template.
