Brownies never stay out of beer — we swim in it!

To be clear, I actually love Willow (to be fair, I was 12 when it came out and I doubt I've grown much since then) but I'm not enamored by Howard's selection to direct this.

He also directed Willow which is totally awesome.

Smoking shrinks the brain and leads to memory loss.

The kicker is that it isn't just racism at play here — he was also hailed a "coward" by the Japanese. Brutal on all fronts.

You're not alone in your blasphemy — I dare say that not only do I prefer FYC's rendition of "Suspicious Minds" over the King's, but I firmly believe it's their best song full stop.

Ran numbers. Math does not check out.

I dunno, Tactical Neural Implant* holds up pretty damned well. :-)

Dude, FYC had like 3 or 4 other hits: "Suspicious Minds", "Johnny Come Home", "Good Thing"…

Wasn't "Into the Ocean" also a hit by them?

"Fields of Fire" was a decent sized hit for Big Country (it reached the Top 10 in the UK). Damned good song that still holds up.

Releasing singles does not mean those songs were hits. Spacehog is about as good an example of a "one hit wonder" as you can get.

It was a minor hit here in Canada when it came out that got way more airplay on MuchMusic than it deserved (ugh). Jian Ghomeshi, the singer/drummer of the band, has certainly been more (in)famous than that one hit though…

The controversy is, essentially, bullshit - so I'll leave that out of the equation.

If we're talking pure "rock" albums the Rolling Stones have got nothing on Led Zep.

Let's put it this way: Sgt. Pepper's is probably the 5th or 6th best album by the Beatles but is still easily better than anything the Beach Boys ever produced. It's not even close.

That's swell.

Jesus, I need glasses.

With a name like "Nerfherder" you'd think there's at least something in Spaceballs that might turn that frown upside down!

I was actually attempting to be facetious in that last statement. :-) (fail?)
