Have you seen her wardrobe? That's where her money goes. Plus two swanky apartments, a brownstone and Danny supports his mother. If anything, this show is overestimating what they can afford.

I adore you.
Ben Affleck has writing credits on a couple of adaptations, though. Didn't he do the adaptation for Gone Baby Gone? And I think he did for his upcoming Live By Night, too (currently filming).
This last paragraph sounds utterly obnoxious.
Agreed. Mostly I was just surprised with how utterly bored I was. The story went nowhere, I didn't laugh or even smile once, and I didn't care about any of the characters. I think Ed Weeks and Tom Bell did a fine job with what they were given, but this movie was simply terrible. Not funny, and for all of its high…
I'll watch it for curiosity's sake, and because I really like Ed Weeks, but I'm not expecting to enjoy it.
Oh, he wants a career. Didn't he sign with WME recently?
She was called "line producer" by Ben/Matt, and has been discussed as "line producer." However, in an interview with Buzzfeed, she says that is a mischaracterization of her role, and she was actually hired as a producer, not merely a line producer.
I noticed that, too. I'm hugely Team Effie, and I feel like Marc Joubert never says anything outright, but he makes these little dogs at her in all his talking heads.
Agree. That was a big part of previous seasons. We have a lot fewer eps this season, and I agree that I will be sorry to miss the post-production coverage. I do think this is tbe best season so far. For pure schadenfreude, Season Two is really good, though.
I'm a big fan of Ed Weeks in the Mindy Project, so I've seen him in a number of interviews. He was being humorous when he was saying how bad it was. He often does that. I have no idea what he really thought of the project, but he's had nothing but positive things to say about it, and he appeared to enjoy himself at…
Marc would act like he had class, and then variously bad mouth both Jason and Effie while doing nothing to correct the situation. I can't for the life of me actually figure out what his job was. As far as I can tell it was just to run around looking nervous and stressed but not doing anything.
I agree that Jason seems to work very well with the actors, and I admire that, but I can't get over how much he throws the production team under the bus - particularly Effie - over and over.
It was a creative way to adjust for her East Coast book tour. I just think it wasn't wholly successful in the implementation.
Exactly! I mean Danny gave him $5,000 for NP school, a throw away reveal that I loved. I love Morgan and generally don't mind him having a ton of screen time. Ike Barinholtz is hilarious. And I like the idea of them getting to experiment with episodes like this now that the show is on Hulu, but overall, this episode…
I kind of think they were tropes, yes, but the fun and funny part is that the outcome is different. It takes a been-done trope and subverts it. The normal trope is that mom and dad switch roles and both learn a valuable lesson about the work of the other. In Mindy, mom and dad switch roles and while dad realizes it…
Agreed. I don't think that would make sense in the show (for Jody to try and get Mindy fired). Plus he'd have no reason to. Mindy quit, and to his knowledge, she had no plans of coming back. I think it was just to scene to show the thawing of their relationship and to set up a joke about Mindy drinking all of it,…
He was in a background scene of when Colette comes out to Jody. I enjoyed the intercom bit, actually.
I'm watching project Greenlight now. They filmed in March.
I've been feeling like Gwen's reviews are colored by her own experiences. This is actually not what the episode gets at. With the exception of cooking, Mindy excels at being a stay at home mom and does not find it the hardest job in the world. She just loves being a doctor and misses working.
