Wow. I can't believe how much I disagree. Where I hated last week's episode and found it borderline offensive (to the point that it was the worst one of the entire series to me), I loved this week's. It might even be my favorite of the season, so far. I thought it actually played with tropes quite amusingly. The

I want to like this movie, because I like Ed Weeks, but I've watched the trailer now, and it just seems horrible. It does baffle me though, that as pro-diversity as Effie was, the end result is a film with no people of color. Also baffling is just how extreme Jason's dislike of Effie is. He never hesitates to

Yeah, and I feel like tons of people are loving it, but I just thought it was awful. I re-watched it to see if maybe I was just in a mood, and it was still so awful. The conference room meeting scene made me so tense and upset. And it's so weird, because I am a HUGE fan of the show, and I've never felt this

Did not like the episode, and decidedly do not hope that Mindy stays home, but I DO want Mindy to become best friends with Chelsea. Eliza Coupe, please come back and stay forever!

I loved the first three episodes, so I didn't feel the disconnect there, but I just hated this one. I'm not a mother either, but I don't think that's the reason I couldn't connect. I actually spoke with my own mother today about the show, and she also hated this episode (and she obviously is a mother :)).

I feel the same way. I have been in love since the pilot, but having everyone agree with over the top sexism didn't make sense to me. I also really hated the southern stereotypes.

Agreed. This episode didn't ring true for me.

Wow, with this and the Vulture recap, I'm starting to wonder if I'm even watching the same show. I loathed this episode and thought it was the worst one of the series. And usually, I am a huge, obsessive fan.

Why on earth would you think he was uncompensated? That would be ridiculous. People don't work for free. He was an executive producer on the film. I'm sure he's also getting a paycheck.

The conversation was tense, sure, but it seems a fairly ridiculous reason to quit. It wasn't that big of a deal. Which makes me think there was more to the story and that Effie became the scapegoat. Even if it was the result of that interaction, Marc made it very clear that he thought Effie was wholly in the wrong

I think Marc completely through Effie under the bus, though, which makes him less than sympathetic to me. he was perfectly willing to blame Peter Farrelly quitting entirely on Effie and made sure everyone else on the production team knew it.

This is a joke, right? I legitimately can't tell.

Love this show. I watch at midnight, though Hulu continues to toy with me by making me wait an extra 20 minutes or so each Tuesday.

I couldn't tell if Ben Affleck was being sarcastic/ironic last week when he kept referencing all these old movies shot on film BEFORE digital existed. He was like "Oh I get Jason's point; Citizen Kane was shot on film," etc. Like, duh, of course it was. That was the only thing to shoot on.

Um hello, Dear White People was hugely critically acclaimed. She doesn't think she outranks Peter Farrelly, but she does recognize that she's involved in the day to day while he is not.

Effie is my new favorite person ever, and she (and Ed Weeks) are the only reason I watch this show. I am team Effie 100%. She has had this film conversation with Jason about 18 times, and I think she understandably feels that Peter Farrelly is undermining her. If Jason feels like he can go over her head every time
