To be fair, Alex is being pretty gentle with Maggie in that interrogation.
How it would have gone if Maggie weren't her girlfriend:
"Winn here is being held on suspicion of…"
"No he's not."
"What? Yes he is, we're the cops, and we say he's being held on…"
"No, he's an employee of our agency, and he's walking free now."
"My

And they both go off to his home planet and are never heard of again?

Have you seen Cabaret?

I'd say Tony Head was better than "decent"! James Marsters went on to have a career as a singer, too.

"No, your highness, this is not just our usual ruse to avoid embarrassing morning conversations - this time the planet really IS being destroyed!"

In other news: it's tough when there's an accomplished conartist around. It's just a pity that nobody at the DEO has the power to read minds!

"I'm done taking the easy way out! No, I will not rebuild our civilisation in a kinder, fairer mold, struggling to reconstitute an entire social and economic system previously constructed from injustice, within the postapocalyptic ruins of our old lives! I will not commit to the hard work of serious, intergenerational

But you can tell they're lowlifes because they're immigrants!

Just to clarify: who said there was no problem with the waves of anonymous racial stereotype evil ninjas in Daredevil? Because I thought they were the biggest problem with Daredevil. And I don't think I was alone in that…

Disappointing news. I though the first season was great, but I don't want it turned into some Americanised long-running sitcom thing - six episodes already felt like pushing the limits of the concept. I'd be more interested in seeing her turn her hand to something new.
That said, hopefully she really has got a good

Well yeah. She betrayed her friend, she did something terrible, there were consequences (which I think in hindsight she at least partly forsaw but did it anyway), and she's had a hard time coming to terms with that. That's a pretty classic dramatic arc, for either men or women.

…it was hilarious. A modern classic example of British comedy. [the other famous modern example is The Thick of It, particularly in its later seasons (eg the final Tucker rant*). I'd also suggest a show about the police from a few years ago now called Babylon.]

Or at least some sort of physical training. I mean, a dancer or a gymnast could probably do good fight scenes too. In fact, since Iron Fist's prowess is more from his spirit than from his muscle mass, as I understand it, a dancer or a gymnast might actually be more appropriate than a karate specialist or the like.

Nothing wrong with 26-episode seasons…
…or there wouldn't be, if they didn't only have 12 episodes of arc to share between them…

You'd have thought a decade training as a warrior monk would at least teach you a bit of self-reflection…

Many of GOT's core actors were cast:
a) when they were very young
and
b) when the show had a much smaller budget and it was such a gamble that it was being debated whether it would even survive to a second season or not.

I think the thing about the plot archetype the reviewer mentions is… it still hasn't really been done well.

I think it would have been great to make Jessica Jones asian. Or even Daredevil. Or why not make Luke Cage part asian? Seriously, those would all have been good choices. But taking the bland cliche asian martial artist warrior monk whose only interesting feature is that he's not actually asian, and making him asian,

Hmm. I thought - and possibly said - when this came out that Finn Jones, who on GOT never really displayed any ability to act (or convincingly fight), and whose only other notable credit is Hollyoaks, seemed like a terrible choice for a lead actor for a show like this. But then I thought: hey, these people know what

Incidentally, the two pieces of beautiful choral music David listens to are both from Faure's setting of the Requiem, the mass of the dead. So while they seem peaceful and beautiful, they're actually foreboding - a warning from David's subconscious?
