I haven't enjoyed much from him since Funcrusher Plus. That being said, Funcrusher Plus rules and earns him a free pass for life.
I catch strong Laurie Anderson vibes from her, which I mean as high praise.
The Knife was the biggest letdown this year, to me, but that song "Without You My Life Would Be Boring" is absurd greatness.
1) Speedy Ortiz - Major Arcana
2) Arcade Fire - Reflektor
3) Joanna Gruesome - Weird Sister
4) Waxahatchee - Cerulean Salt
5) Courtney Barnett - A Sea of Split Peas
6) Adam Green & Binki Shapiro - Adam Green & Binki Shapiro
7) The Julie Ruin - Run Fast
8) Thao & The Get Down Stay Down - We the Common
9) Austra - Olympia

I like it but it's not as good as their debut. Though, if they keep putting out a new record every year, I will keep listening forever.
Every time I try to listen to them them I want to call it a day & dust off my copy of "Dreamboat Annie"
It's an album that's so damned determined to sound like Death Grips.
I really like Juicy J's Stay Trippy. Even though it's a pretty trivial pop record all in all, I never get tired of listening to it. The dude is hilarious.
Other glaring omissions: Courtney Barnett, Joanna Gruesome, Adam Green & Binki Shapiro, Shannon & The Clams, The Blow, Tera Melos, Sigur Ros, Austra, The Julie Ruin, Thao & The Get Down Stay Down, Julia Holter, Veronica Falls
Win Butler on the length of the new album: "The biggest criticism has been that it's too long. […] Just make as shorter playlist. Welcome to 2013. We gave you lots of great songs, make it shorter if you want to." https://soundcloud.com/#arc…
I enjoy things that are "incredibly stupid" so it doesn't bother me either.
Juicy J & Death Grips also both dropped great rap albums this year.
All of this Yeezus love and no mention of Government Plates?
Quasi was one of the best live bands I saw this year. Impossibly loud and rambunctious, those two. They need more love.
I really dig that Colleen Green record as well. "Close to You" has got to be my favorite track. http://youtu.be/1QlsMKqFJcA
This list right here. All good stuff. Check out "Wussy Void" right here if you haven't yet. http://youtu.be/fppMx478qns I think you'd dig it.
Julia Holter does not get enough love. I would say she's a 21st Centurty Laurie Anderson, but Laurie Anderson is still alive & active . . .
This entire Connie Converse record was a pleasant discovery. http://connieconverse.bandc…
This Speedy Ortiz track is a close second. http://youtu.be/Lx-QFN_7fw0
