He knows what he's supposed to be looking for with Frank… remember "Am I supposed to solve this?" He was on egg shells and not sure what he was supposed to "find out"/// here there's not nuance… he is being a "true detective" now… for Frank.

Nah… Just tone down the stridency…

Funny how the conditioning works… the "real" thing was oddly out of place… this specifically made the e cig (which I previously thought was just a stupid quirk) relevant to character development… it was a nice touch.

So who was Dixon REALLY working for?

I don't think it's been an easy insertion… I think he's bullied some low level folks and downsized his living quarters… he "disappeared" the fat guy, so it's not just beating up a guy… he also is likely coming through with his 5% on the drugs but he's hardly "on top" of everything… The two Mexicans are connected

Ya, I could pick about the direction and some of the dialogue… the character is the most interesting for me though… so the performance is under a microscope… I also think that he (the character) has been uncomfortable with "who he is being" and that has resulted in the actor looking uncomfortable on screen. as the

I thought Vaughn was substantially better here than in previous episodes.

I just thought it was awesome that she called stripping a "Career"…

    1. So Vince Vaughn was awesome finally… or has set the bar sufficiently low… but I'm going with he was the hi-light of the episode
    2. This really did feel like a start over, so far ep. 1 should have been trashed and the show should have began with finding Caspere… the next three were progressively better but only

    seriously… WTF is that?

stunning init? must have been shoulder blows…

so why show the guy at all?

I love these two… I actually just booked the whole "play on True Detective" that is both the new (season 4 I believe) intro, and interludes or "in car" segments… Awesome!

The scene with his dad was important in drawing the parallels between how his father made him feel "nervous" and how he makes his son feel "anxious"… his dad dismisses saying "maybe you were already nervous"… and Ray dismisses the charge as non sense when his ex tells him… it's the never ending cycle of damaged people

    I would agree with that…

it was very SOA… I hope the fall out is not.

I like how they contrast Ray and Ani with Paul (black water vet) at the end. It accentuates Pauls conversation with Ray in the car. a "survivor" who doesn't know how to live in the normal world… while Ray and Ani let the gravitas sink in and react accordingly with panic and disbelief, Paul is composed and almost seems

yes… the end of the episode was the beginning of the show… IMO

    IKR? It's only 30 minutes…
