"It's safe to say this guy doesn't have my 5 million dollars"… the case is not closed.. and the 3 cops will have to deal with the fallout from this regardless…

"I don't ever get transported into its world the way I do with Game of Thrones" bingo… I spend more time "watching actors play cops" than watching characters play out a scene. Ferrell is the only one putting on a really believable performance… in season 1 there was none of that, the actors were the characters and I

so what's in it for her? taking down her husband's investments seems counter productive init?

that was the worst line delivery ever!! if he's the guy I'll eat my hat!

Sharknado baby!! I'm certain this is the case…

OK so Ray Velcoro… is the TRUE DETECTIVE, right? just compromised enough to be effective…

" She was supposed to be smart, rational, and very supportive. Now…" she, like everything else is not coming as advertised. She's a bad investment… like the baron trees… Or she's just a goodie goodie who lives in denial about where Frank came from… "I wonder how many things you have like that…" and I'm sure she's not

ya… the portrayal of men is awful.

I feel like this show will be a B show… but hey, the world needs B shows. Interesting that the reviewer notes "the best part" was the focus on the head trauma and brain injury… prolly why I never realized it was a comedy until somebody told me. This "concept" has great potential for a light to weighty dramedy… but

True, but while I see the frustration (I have no patience so I would have boogied first time I met Reg)… But, Reg is correct about the collusion… It is REALLY none of Spence's business who Vernon sign with… he's a financial manager… regardless of where he signs there will be finances to manage… one would hope. But

my guess is the lieutenant shot him… I think the mayor's son is on the hard drive.

    It's funny… I've actually tried… it's tough, man.

well thought out… I tend to agree… I suspect the mayor's son is on the hard drive. And the mayor had Kaspere whacked.
But Kaspere was ripping Frank off as well right? even if he had put the deal through he told Frank 10 million when the company only asked for 7…. if I'm correct.

Agreed… the "bad coffee" and swagger out is more what I'd expect (from a gangster who is confident where he stands). Perhaps that's the point… the guy (minor player) is getting to Frank… Everyone is getting to Frank and he's overcompensating…

That drove home the point that it was all for not… as they will not get any answers… this was as bad as it could go.

seeing the kids as "grief"… is quite revealing… his motivation is to produce something… not to nurture, or raise something… like the kids are more a prop to show it's all real (keeping with awake vs asleep theme) than something he actually wants…

Couldn't disagree more… it is imperative to the character that we don't see the break down, but rather the end result… He (consciously) can't remember "being himself"… that wouldn't be as powerful if we'd seen the whole thing… we see it like he sees it and that creates the empathy. IMO

I don't think the director is doing him any favours… True detective is big on lingering close up shots and exit stage left shots… Vaughn's expressions are not as subtly revealing or "weighty" as either actor in the first season, or say Collin Ferrell in this… If they cut from him like 3 seconds earlier it would

It's true… But the guy he threatened seems to be a sidekick… and Frank can't allow the sidekick to make threats… implied or otherwise… I think that guy runes the store, the other guy is in charge of business.
