I do think firing the rest of the band (bar Yanchak) after Gang of Losers was a terrible idea, they haven't really been the same since.

Listening to the new Dears album now and I think D+ is very harsh indeed. These two Times Infinity albums have been the best things they've done since No Cities Left by a long way.

No, it will take place in the present day but begin with a scene like this. The USSR is back!

There are far too many (i.e. more than zero) comments here saying 'gosh, this is rather quick after his wife died!' or some such shit.

Lady Macbeth/It Comes at Night/Grave of the Fireflies - contender for world's most depressing film triple-bill

Damn, another month before this comes out in the UK. Can't wait for it though.

Here's a song off the new album

And a Emily Haines solo album coming in September too!

Can we at least get more than ten seconds of Gemma Chan in the next film?

I think he's fine for stuff like this. Getting undeserved Oscar nominations for stuff like The Danish Girl on the other hand…

Broken Social Scene's new album is now streaming:

The new Cornelius album gets its worldwide release this month too. Good to have him back. I haven't been crazy about the new Arcade Fire songs so far but I'll still get the album.

Chase scenes - great
Humour - good (top marks for the Mike Myers bit)
The bits with Intermission and Hocus Pocus playing - great
Central romance - average
Overall - enjoyable, but I think I preferred Scott Pilgrim vs the World and
all three Cornetto films (yes, that includes The World's End)

I thought How to be Single was OK, but that may be just because of Alison Brie and Dakota Johnson being in it.

Quiet week for new releases for me. I picked up the Beach House B-sides/rarities album though as I'm sad like that.

The Road Runner-inspired chase in Kung Fu Hustle is just brilliant. And though it's not an action scene, I love the bit in the car where the Landlady and her husband threaten the Axe Gang guys, followed by one of them being set on fire by accident.

It's a sequel to Jumanji AND Welcome to the Jungle/The Rundown!

The Little Hours has had decent reviews so far, maybe she'll have two in the same summer!

Ron Howard has some suggested changes to the film:

Does it at least have an adorable scene-stealing cat in it like A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night did?
