Guardians of the Galaxy 2: Intergalactic Boogaloo

I've always been a fan of Springsteen, despite only being able to make out some of the lyrics in his voice. Then I finally looked up the lyrics to the songs on that album, and holy freaking crap that album is even better than I thought it was.

Occasional spottiness in the first episode aside, True Detective is back! Being an anthology series, they've got a whole new set of characters, reasons for those characters to be damaged, and weird-ass crime scenes! And best of all, assuming there's a third season, it all starts over again, proving that television

Now I'm imagining an alternate universe where Maron is a dark, brutal epic about nobles fighting over who gets to be king, and Game of Thrones is about a guy who has a podcast.

Argh, this talk is making me wanna stop everything and watch The Vicious Kind now.

In high school I took an Italian class with a large group of loud, obnoxious teenagers that were constantly disrespectful of the teacher. One day we watched this movie, and during the ending we were all completely silent and attentive.

I agree. After the the How to Win Friends and Influence People bit, I began to get a serious Nightcrawler vibe. I hope it doesn't become an even split, one week covering LA/SF overall, the next covering Manson specifically. I think Longworth has so far done a good job contextualizing Manson within the era as a whole,

You Must Remember This was…. interesting. Sorry, I thought it was a great episode, but I just don't feel comfortable using peppy, uber-positive dialogue like "fun" or "awesome" to describe an episode devoted to the (truly fucked up) early life of Charles Manson. The most traditionally positive thing I can say is that

I'm so pumped to see where You Must Remember This goes with Charles Manson and that whole setting. The way Longworth described the studios sitting idly by as rock music, the sexual revolution, etc. were on the rise was fascinating enough, and then throwing Charlie Goddamn Manson into the mix?

AND AS A NATIVE BAWSTONIAN I'M WICKED PISSED THAT CAMERON QUEEAH FELLAH IS MAKING A MOVIE CALLED HEY CHOWDAHEAD AND ISN'T EVEN CAHSTING MAHKY MAHK

I believe that movie is called 50 First Dates.

"That blues music is just too dangerous of an influence on young black men, zibbity bop!"

"This is Larry Kroeger, the boy who molested me last month. We have to get married!"

I'm probably in the minority loving the last album here, but I'd put the The Who from Tommy to Who By Numbers on that list as well.

Now's as good a time as any to mention that I think Sway is not only their best song but is one of the greatest songs in rock history.
