Definitely though I wouldn't be personally offended. I hadn't liked the film up to that point so it was more the straw that broke the camel.

@thebutterthief:disqus The very act of engaging in gay sex shows a bi tendency. A willingness to engage in gay sex is by its very nature something not 100% straight.

No prob. Just impressive he's still here.

I am too and I don't even like Redford the actor.

Isn't he still alive?

That's sort of the point I was trying to make actually. If the sexuality of Fassbender didn't matter we would have gotten gay stuff before that, but it is only at this point he engages in anything homosexual and that leaves the question is why bring it up now?

This is a huge part to my point and I think it is important to consider as a reflection of the homophobia of the presentation. Even if he had done cruising before this is the first time we see it in the film which makes it a visual signifier. Also as I previously mentioned the cinematography and editing change

I still find the interpretation offensive as it suggests no middle ground of say bisexuality.

@Scrawler2:disqus Yes, that is exactly why I felt it to be offensive.

I described the homophobia thing well I hope in my reply to @avclub-cfe912f5cb3aa572bd1c9ae2a9b82207:disqus so I hope it is okay only to reply to the smug thing? It's just a fairly generic complaint of finding his treatment of characters to be forceful so that they achieve what he wants and pushing his style to make

I have seen it and don't approve.

That scene is the one I'm referring to and obviously that act in itself is in no way homophobic. In fact it would be nice to have a bi character in a movie that's not Murray Head. What annoys me though is the almost Gaspar Noe depths McQueen goes to show this as bad so that the film comes across as a Reefer Madness

I thought all north Irish were Boehner coloured?

You're just begging for that asshole to come in here and wreck up the place with that last bit.

That should really apply to all movies. He's everything a character actor should be: instantly memorable.

I hope after this McQueen quits. He's such a shallow filmmaker who uses really awful stylistic tricks awfully to mask really smug points that are so shallow a baby could punch  through the thin logic of. Also homophobic.I'm sure this won't have any the depth that Django did in regards to the topic of slavery despite

Is that the name? I've always just mentally called him Catman.

Yeah. If he were to, say, adapt the story of Dracula into comic form with a few cosmetic alterations than a hypocrisy would be present, but so far he's only done erudite fan fiction.

Pekar's super power is in making anyone feel better about their lives.

Metro[olis has a few moments of racism in the original comic actually.
