Tangent: the idea of insisting that Jezebel recognize the greatness of Zappa on account of the musicianship of Ruth Underwood gives me a warm feeling.

Placebo is a a legit great band.

On the one hand, I'm genuinely curious whether they picked a Steely Dan album. They're an acquired taste, for starters. And I can't imagine a group further from the sensibility of a Jezebel writer than them. And I can't imagine two people who give less of a fuck what Jezebel thinks than Fagen and Becker.

I think it's their best one.

If (say) Bjork weren't already famous, would we expect Jezebel to have the listening acumen to recognize her talent?
