They're obviously in no rush for more.

Anyone feeling disdainful need not watch it. Live and let die.

It'd be fab. I absolutely adore Lynch. Even his failures are colossal cinematic achievements towering over the successes of others.
He often has scenes that remain seared in memory forever.

Droe, hi, really appreciate your effort in continuing the conversation.
It's not a matter of swaying me. I'm perfectly happy to be swayed, but you yourself make two points here which are very germane to the issue.

Yep. And aren't we all glad Lynch does not accommodate such people?
Life doesn't have neat little endings all tied up in pink ribbon, and Lynch has the cinematic guts to say so.

Yep. I adore him in this iteration.

Have you seen what she's done to her face with plastic surgery?

Some good dram, awful unfunny "comedy" and those "reality" shows are just the pits.

Emotionally I'm with you.
My adult brain however knows there are dark things in the universe. Do I love them? Of course NOT!
But Lynch wouldn't be Lynch if he didn't go there.

Yep, best to trust your own capacity to interpret what goes on. That's the thrill of the cinematic chase.

Searing brains is what Lynch does best. Lost count of how many times he's done it to my brain over the years.

Definitely noticed.

May I add my little bit to the Donna thread:

I totally dispute the very notion of a golden age, and I'm happy to explain.
Especially the way it's used for certain historical periods.
Having said that, could we be entering the golden age of streaming? In my household of 4 adults, we hardly watch free to air TV anymore.

It's good because it challenges the viewer and doesn't hand them everything ready on a platter.
I for one, love to be challenged this way. It respects the viewer's abilities to interpret it and make sense of it.

Indeed. Ta for finishing off my thought. Lynchian irony in the most humble places.
Don't know how anyone who loves cinematic arts cannot adore Lynch's mischievousness.
Cheers from Australia.

Just the effect Lynch wanted perhaps?

Agreed.
And the red shoes with no face.
And Diane's "it's a fucking morgue" when told not to smoke.
And Lucy getting her way with the beige chair…and eating lunch and saying "I'm not here"…
And Diane and Alfred sleeping on the plane…
And Dougie staring into those wall sockets…(wall sockets really creep me out!)
And Bobbie's

I must have watched a different Ep 9 to yours.

Perhaps that's exactly the effect Lynch intended?
