If there's only one song to take away from the show, make it the penultimate "Second Nature". For one moment they put away the sophomoric humor and take a sobering look at the cost of the American experiment.

That's more true than my generalized statement. There's good, bad and meh with every type of musical.

Yeah, it certainly polarized the Broadway community when it arrived, and was dealt an absolutely blink-and-you-miss-it run. Whereas Hamilton is fully realized on an encyclopedic level, BBAJ is a bit ramshackle and less concerned with things like source and narrative. It gives off a vibe of "Hey motherfuckers, let's

It's an interesting little musical, but the story doesn't really have the kind of weight the show sometimes thinks it does. It's more about the stellar vocal performances and the powerful, authentic rock score (still somehow a rarity these days). And that final scene…You're in for a treat there. The OOBC is on Spotify.

Um, I gotta go, there seems to be something stuck in my eye, excuse me please…

Dang, you're right, I never noticed that even though my favorite character overall has been Sister Jude, who had a phenomenal back-story which really helped legitimize Asylum for me.

You'll probably like Reefer Madness: the Musical! which was given a film adaptation from Showtime staring Alan Cumming, Ana Gasteyer, Kristen Bell and Steven Webber.

The few I suggested to Prederick below might be up your alley. As well as:
Hedwig & the Angry Inch
Passing Strange
Murder Ballad
Spring Awakening
Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812
Venice

You can find a recording of the whole OBC production made for a Japanese telecast on the Youtubes. It's magnificent.

I'd say Spring Awakening, Passing Strange, Murder Ballad, Natasha & Pierre… and Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson embrace the music of the era as well.

"Me, I died for him." spoken by the man who plays both Laurents AND Phillip!

Blaaaooowwwww!!!

The medium (as in one expensive remote location) is terrible. But the media (as in the shows themselves) is often not terrible, outdated or miserable. For every listless revival and unnecessary film adaptation there's a Fun Home, Passing Strange, Book of Mormon and Hedwig & the Angry Inch.

So you fare better with more raunchy, comedic stuff? Or can you handle more serious showtunes if they're atleast scored with contemporary sounds, like rock operas? Because, although frequently amusing and funny, I wouldn't call Hamilton a comedy.

"Blockhead!"

My bet for the Ten Commandments Killer: it was Wes all along!

It's better to believe that any time a Horror Story character enters a new space their list of believable motivations, decisions, choices and reactions is completely reshuffled. Easier to watch that way. It's a sketch show with almost as much continuity as Portlandia.

Have we seen them focusing on both kids at the same time yet? Are they even capable of such a thing?
