No, I said "much more solid ground", implying just that they are better now than they were back when Harry's Law aired. Surely, they have lots of holes to fix, but Harry's Law wouldn't be of any use for them now, especially with the year-to-year drops.

Right. And, obviously, Alana de la Garza did go to LOLA.

I disagree. Maybe back then NBC could have used a show that had 8 million viewers or so every week, but now, considering how they're on much more solid ground, their decision to cancel it seems appropriate. As for the quality of the show, I always hated Boston Legal and I thought Harry's Law was worse. I did like

I think they killed their chances of doing another spin-off with that. Jesus, launching it just when the mothership had been canceled? So stupid. There's no way another spin-off would work now.

Ah, I still remember LOLA, back when we all rejoiced in saying NBC was a fucking disaster. I believe it was the same season NBC gaves us Harry's Law, The Event and The Cape (six seasons and movie!). Still, LOLA could be proud in distinguishing itself for one of the most misguided attempts of revamping a TV show.

Oh fuck, why did you have to compare it to Enlightened? Now I'll have to watch at least half of the season just to make sure you guys aren't misjudging a precious masterpiece that is impossible to judge based on a couple of episodes.

I never watched it, but USA seems like a mess right now, doesn't it? They're cancelling stuff left and right and there's nothing left to replace them. Pretty weird considering just a few seasons ago they were very strong. Playing House won't last, which's sad. It had the potential of being USA's version of Broad City.

I liked this far more than I expected in the end. At the same time that it felt like a trial season and I expect better things from a season 2, it also displayed right off the bat some remarkable (no pun intended) freshness. And Constance Wu is easily the breakout star of this TV season, right? I mean, her and Carrie

I agree that they may come off a bit stiff sometimes, but I think they'll improve, it's their first real work. And the little one earns extra points from me for being the cutest kid on TV ever since Hope from Raising Hope.

I wouldn't mind having more grandma next season. She's always been fun when she's around.

I think sometimes this isn't even something conscious. It's just you rooting for the show to be good because you've seen evidence of its potential.

I feel that was a case of the reviewers being very forgiving considering the strength of the first episodes, the creative team involved and the fact that it's a freshman show.

I think it sort of helps to binge-watch the show (which's what I did), but I really did hate a couple of the middle episodes, particularly that atrocious one where Phil is about to bone Melissa and Todd appears. Overall, it makes things feel less repetitive, but the thing is, he's just not a funny character. Or the

I can get by on the teen drama as it's a CW show, so I know it comes with the package. But still, season 2 barely had any teen drama at all.

I think it's an advantage the CW has over the other networks, since their hits are merely a few tenths apart from their struggling shows (e.g. Supernatural got a 0.7 this week, Reign got a 0.4). So why not just move those shows to summer? My only concern was that there wasn't enough money to do that, but Pedowitz

Yes. There's plenty of room in their summer schedule for more scripted shows. It doesn't even have to be paired with Beauty and the Beast, it could just lead the night elsewhere. Pretty sure The 100 is moved to summer in its fourth season as well, especially being shorter than the usual CW drama.

I really expected the worst things from The 100 last season and ended up being very impressed with it. Now I'm kinda contemplating watching this, even though it would take a miracle for it to come back. I hope there's some regular coverage to let us know if the show is really worthwhile.

I'm guessing The 100 and this would take over Fridays on midseason (since on fall CW airs America's Nex Top Model and Whose Line is it Anyway?). Reign will become a summer show and either Supernatural or The Vampire Diaries will likely end next season.

I didn't know that. I guess it's possible then.

Yeah, I think this season has been the best since season 3 (which's not saying much), but I knew it would never be the end. The CW only cancels shows when they're absolutely dead (ratings wise), which's good for struggling but beloved shows (thank God we'll have a season 3 of The 100), but bad for hits (The Flash will
