It's a bit ridiculous, though I guess one shouldn't underestimate the allure of fame. Perhaps women mistake his childishness as being 'child-like'.

Agreed about Noah being straight-up hilarious. He's a cartoon character by this point.

"predisposed to not liking the episodeā€¦"

As someone who thought the last 3 episodes were dull and unfocused, I
actually didn't mind this one too much - it at least felt like it had a point (even the still-excruciating Quinn plot).

They're stylistically designed to be that way, and you can't undo that, but what you can do is diminish the effects of it.

'Enjoy' is probably the wrong word. I think people do it just because they can. I consumed all 5 seasons of The Wire in a couple of weeks, but I know I'd have appreciated it more if it was drip-fed to me.

Her character was in the book they're filming, though who knows what's been changed.

After the success of the last album, it's become self-fulfilling: everyone talks about how big this is going to be, and so it is. Hollywood relies on this trick for their blockbusters.

The problem is that with the sarcastic option you often have no idea what the protagonist will say. A lighthearted joke or a mean-spirited put-down? Sometimes it matters - particularly if you care about the 'like' meter of your companions.

I really like the song and the video. This Bowie guy will go far.

'The End of the World' by Skeeter Davis. It makes everything feel like a David Lynch movie, which is fine by me.

He was based on a real person Paul Simon worked with, which either explains the character's lack of dimension or makes it even stranger.

I'm hard pressed to think which of the last three JP movies weren't horrible garbage. I'm inclined to go with JP3 as it sort of embraces being a really dumb movie and had the decency to only be 90 minutes.

I'm not just annoyed, I'm fucking furious with Ed right about now.

You seem annoyed people aren't more annoyed. :-(

Did they actually buy the apartment I wonder? In Manhattan that would cost God knows how many millions - surely a lot more than a book advance and Montauk beach house combined.

Oh yeah, that's what I meant - she sees everything as the end of the world but even in her own memories half the stuff isn't *that* bad.

Everything you mentioned apart from Allison's breakdown happened in the last quarter. And prior to that it was interminably dull.

Beginning of season 3 aside, I can't remember it ever being this bad in that regard. It's like they don't have enough plot for this many episodes. It's a pity because in principle I like the twisty espionage turn this season's taken.

I'm getting annoyed by this current run of nothing happening for the first 85% of the episode followed by a couple of Gotcha moments in the last 15%. Really hope this season can get over its current lull.
