Soap operaish is spot on. I so wish HBO had picked up Outlander instead- what could have been….

I agree that Caitriona seems out of her league. She may have talent but it isn't yet developed enough to carry a show in which she doesn't have another lead actor to bear some of the weight. I cringe through her scenes because all I see is acting, not the character come to life.

I really don't get why everyone is crying. None of the story and relationships up to this point have been believable. I suppose I could see the scene with Claire holding Faith as a trigger for mothers generally and particularly for mothers who have lost children. But otherwise, I just don't get it. What a meandering

Jamie gets less appealing every week….at least we get a somewhat recognizable Claire in the hospital though. Wonder why they skipped Mother Hildegard's line about Claire being smart for accepting Bouton's help in diagnostics. Bouton is now by far my favorite part of this show.

If I find a link directly to the CS message I'll post - the writers apparently initially had Claire grabbing Jamie by the dick and badgering him into having some really sad sex with her…

Perhaps…not a big deal but it did ring a bell about how TD was insisting a red dress that was in some of the early promos wasn't THE red dress, even though it looked like it was supposed to be.

Now that you all bring it up, could have sworn I read something about TD having made two different red dresses for two different episodes…

I agree with this - I wonder if they pinned the dress up top in the promos to may it sit nicely instead of gape open like it was ripped in the episode.

Yea, because people are always such adults on disqus - that's what comment sections are all about ;)

You should see what she said on a CS forum about the way the show does the healing at the abbey being weak and ineffective, and how appalled she was at the initial drafts…I don't follow those boards but see screenshots posted occassionally - seems like she's most honest over there

There they go again, putting TD's designs before the story itself….

How do DVR numbers count? Just curious.
2 days too long for what?
Who cares how many comments there are?

I really hope you are right.

See , I don't think she's playing smart and headstrong though - I think they've written her as snobby, cold, weirdly damsel-in-distressy (particularly in the high-stakes scenes - can they just stop with all the screeching?), and fairly stupid (though with an uncanny, unearned knowledge of 18th century politics that

Like I said, I don't want to make "nice, happy people" upset. The others - I just don't give a $hit if they are upset or not - people like gio DO get upset at any criticism (and there are MANY, MANY others like him). I didn't start posting until after another critic started getting attacked, and then I WILL post

I'd have to find a more appropriate place to do that- wouldn't want to cause Gio to have an aneurysm :)

Not one comment with any substance? Surely you jest. (Also, I watch on DVR, which I doubt counts for anything)

See, common ground :)

You're quite welcome - thanks for reading my monologue :)

I'm posting 24/7? Um, no, I posted some comments to one article about a show I had hoped to like.
