My favorite black and white movies are The Man Who Wasn't There, Ed Wood, and Dead Man. Sin City is pretty cool too but there is a splash of color.

The black and white version is an immersive experience actually. By taking away the color the viewer is able to pretend the film takes place in modern day Detroit.
