It's still bad writing, but that actually does fit the way Grant Gustin has played Barry with Patty throughout—as ambivalent about the relationship, or wanting to have a girlfriend rather than this specific girl. I would totally buy it if the show weren't explicitly trying to convince us of other, more nonsensical

That was…unexpectedly realistic for a superhero show.

Caitlin's best and most complex relationship in the whole show is with Grodd, and that is just pathetic. But the only time that the show actually cares about Caitlin and not the man she's attached to is when the gorilla is around.

Iris is always the best part of every episode of this show.

Yeah, while I agree that Patty had many good reasons to dump Barry, everything they did with her character in these last two episodes was grossly insulting.

Yeah, I didn't think the show could be any more insulting to Patty, and yet they somehow found a way for her to figure out the secret and it actually made her plot line WORSE.

Yes! This show has had some fabulous cliffhanger endings, but this was FANTASTIC! And really well-prepared for going all the way back to the Elana payoff reveal in season 1.

I think it's much more likely that Scott swapped the sample than that the twins are Roman's from the survival sex Petra had in the Everglades.

I doubt they're going to kill Michael—though I'm sure that comment about believing he and Jane were made for each other until they day he dies will come back unexpectedly—but I think the show could function without him (and would probably make Susanna and Luisa bigger characters if they did) in a way it couldn't if it

I did love the height thing. I'm four inches shorter than Jane, that's my life!

I just re-watched season 1 during the mid-season break, and I was blown away by just how fantastic Alba's acting and character growth was throughout. She has so many reaction shots that are just perfect and make me laugh out loud, and in season one her arc from being starstruck by Rogelio to knowing him well enough to

Yes, and I think the Jane/Petra friendship is going to be the endgame.

You're completely right on all of this, but I do think based on the narrator's comment we were supposed to oppose Blake in all he said.

It does seem unlikely that Emilio could marry two major crime bosses and have no idea what they were up to.

This is very true, but I also have to plug the actress who plays young Xo, from age 16 when she has Jane to 25ish. She is an amazing actress and completely channels what Xo would be like at that age!

I was also glad to see Michael moving on; I did miss him from the episode but it really fits who he is as a character at this point, and the Jane/Michael entranceway meeting going so differently from her dream was a great scene. And the ending set up Jane/Michael/Rafael interacting again around the Mutter plot in ways

I loved the sleep training plot and how all three of the Villanueva women interacted within it, but I really miss seeing Jane interact with Petra, Rafael and the insane world of the Marbella; the stories that bring together the hotel shenanigans with Jane's world are always my favorite.

I agree James isn't a Nice Guy—he's a conflicted guy who is attracted to Kara but can't bring himself to act on it because of his baggage; he isn't yet entirely over Lucy and is trying to be something other than an alien's longstanding sidekick.

Yeah, I loved Winn's angst about whether he could turn into his dead, but trying to connect that to why he needed to share his unrequited feelings with Kara was just awful.

Plus let's not forget that solid walls of ice hit by multiple bomb blasts cause no damage when they shatter.
