All we want is life beyond….Thunderdome

Thanks. So you are saying this is The AVClub's fault?

Yes exactly. Others have questioned why a video dedicated to documenting bad CGI would include several examples that pre-date CGI effects.

Um, Night of the Lepus, Robocop, Jaws 3, and others on this video are not CGI at all and pre-date CGI special effects. Am I missing something?

They should probably post a warning about watching this if you have epilepsy.

Heeeey, they listed "Immortalizing your awkward phrase" twice! Intentional?

I love that idea. Every growl or snarl he ever did collected together and played in a row.

I thought Movie 43 was hilarious. Yeah it had a couple of slow spots, but overall I thought it was hysterical. If you like "Kentucky Fried Movie" "The Groove Tube" or "Amazon Women on the Moon" you should like it. Admittedly it's not Citizen Kane or The Godfather. But it was funny, no question about it.

Moe Sizlak:

No no no. It's SPELLED Slayer, but it's PRONOUNCED SLLLLLLAAAAAYYYYYYERRRR!!!

Yes, "The Final Cut" is Pink Floyd's worst album by far.

Yeah I think that's fair. I always categorized "The Final Cut" as taking "The Wall's" most depressing and dispirited cuts (such as "Mother" and "Don't Leave Me Now") and making a full length album out of them. "The Final Cut" is dull, dreary, and so so boring.

I didn't have a problem with the actual character, my point was that he was not part of "The Hobbit" and he, as well as many other added characters and subplots, were not necessary and took away from the whimsy, and sense of adventure the book conveyed.

It's SPELLED "Luxury-Yacht" but it's PRONOUNCED "throat warbler mangrove".

Thank you thank you thank you for articulating what a colossal disappointment these films have been. You nailed it exactly. These are similar to the Star Wars prequels in that they feel staged, inorganic and completely and utterly miss the "tone" of what fans expect. I absolutely loved The Lord of the Rings and looked

I love when Moe calls Marge, "Midge". That makes me laugh every time. Obviously, he knows her real name so I am guessing it's just a nervous tic of his.

Worth seeing. Quirky and amusing, takes some twists I didn't see coming. I loved this scene where Ned(Paul Rudd) meets his parole officer:

Thanks Hooded Justice, my mistake.

Yes I remember too watching PF in the theater, literally open mouthed at the edge of my seat as the pawn shop owner opened the trunk that revealed the rubber man "Gimp". I had never seen anything like this before and I had absolutely no idea where it was going. I think I actually said out loud "What the fuck??" It was

I like to think Raul Julia ad-libbed it but I am sure that is not correct.
