Man I have been loving this 94 nostalgia trip you guys are doing this week. So many memories.

Great write up. Totally agree. I think the model for this was the "disaster flicks" of the late 70's. Bland, likeable "every men and women" face a catastrophe of epic proportions. Much emoting, melodrama, and amazing plot conveniences pop up throughout. "Bland" and "slow" are the 2 top words I would use to describe

You watched the best part. After that it draaaaags quite a bit.

I know you are just being sarcastic, but I love it!

Bleah, really? Always thought she was skinny, stringly and UGLEE as sin. Oh well to each his own.

Let me guess. You thought it was about professional wrestling? I made that mistake once in reverse. Thought I was going to see gangster rap and it was a bunch of rednecks screaming and pounding their fists.

I think this is great casting. I remember Paul Giamatti playing "pig vomit" in Howard Stern's movie. He is great at playing sleaze bags with a bit of humanity and soul.

Ha, yes, actually that is even MORE disturbing. Two of them died? It sounds like George might be "Bluebeard".

Exactly. Initially, I thought he was joking when he told Ruth he had been married 6 times. I thought that was way too many. That should have been Ruth's wake up call, but she chose to ignore it and marry him anyway. I can't imagine a larger red flag than someone who has six failed marriages behind him.

I can't believe this was legit. I was sure it was a bad joke by a troll. I guess the people in Paramount's marketing department didn't realize that September is the 9th month of the year???

THOSE were the 2 big releases of the week? No wonder movie grosses are down this summer, this summer's movies have sucked.

Thank you for writing this. I have always felt this song is hokey, fake and lame. It is the only song on Back in Black that I don't like. Every other song is a winner. It's weird that THIS song is considered the most seminal on this album. There are so many better songs.
