lol, I suspect it's not so much an indictor of low intelligence, and more of a sign that you, like so many of the rest of us, just don't have the time or energy to follow or get invested in the 3 dozen new main characters each book seems to introduce when many of them aren't particularly compelling and most of them…
Don't get me wrong, she's great, but hearing her say that was like watching your kid do a really stupid thing and being totally oblivious to it. You just clench your jaw like, "i love you, but goddamnit." Lol
Maybe, but Robin Williams delivering the original quote to inspire a small English class is a bit different from Viola Davis using the particular phrasing she chose on national TV.
Still, it's one thing to spout that sort of thing out to motivate a company, and I'm sure those execs have enough cynicism not to buy into their own hype 100%. Hollywood on the other hand spouts that nonsense to a worldwide audience, and judging from the tears, they must honestly believe it on some level.
if you read my entire comment you'll see i acknowledge that, but it's so ridiculous the charges would never be filed. Even if you somehow ever managed to get a US attorney to play along, the first judge they tried to get to sign off in it would take and dismiss all charges with prejudice.
I understand everyone has differing opinions about the war on terror, the US's role in it, and some of the moral compromises we've made since 9/11, but for the writers to so grossly misrepresent reality in such a smug fashion does a disservice to a great many people.
"We are the only profession that celebrates what it means to live a life" Good god, if that's not the most pretentious thing I've ever heard. Sorry I don't mean to pick on Viola Davis, she's a terrific actress and she's not the problem, the entire Oscars circle-jerk is. But jeez, it's things like this that make me…
No doctor would ever be brought up on charges for providing treatment to an alleged terrorist, even as part of some CIA ruse. Even Military doctors are required by law to not only treat enemy combatants, but to provide them the same care as they would our own troops. That part of the story is straight out of…
I'm trying to feel sympathy for Leonard's mom for losing all her retirement, but even in her diminished position, she'll make more in a year than most people in this country could ever dream of retiring on. So she'll have to work a couple extra years and that French villa is no longer a possibility. Big deal. My…
This whole issue is a distraction meant to keep us occupied. Trans people have been quietly using the bathroom they identified with for years until conservative demagogues and liberal keyboard crusaders decided to turn it into a war
Human reluctance to embrace reasonable pragmatism and efficiency truly astounds me
Dude, I don't know where you live but here in the real world women and children get isolated and assaulted in public restrooms fairly regularly. I've already conceded the point that trans people should be able to use the restroom they are most comfortable with, I just wanna make sure that at the same time it we don't…
It is a thing that happens (have you never used the restroom at your public park?) and you're really missing the point with your obtuse soapboxing.
McAvoy is told Stewart is circumcised and undergoes the procedure to maintain continuity, then finds out Capt Picard was mistaken.
You'd think a veteran stage actor like Patrick Stewart would have seen enough peens to know the difference. You're telling me a septuagenarian drama kid doesn't know a Bruce Willis from a sea cucumber? I call bullshit. On another note, his suit game is on point; Patrick Stewart is a stone-cold pimp.
And I'm not worried about trans men and women using the restroom of their choice, i'm more concerned about cisgendered men who follow people into restrooms and try to claim trans after they are caught. I just think that in addition to trans people being able to use the bathroom they want, some sort protections should…
I think you grossly underestimate what pervs are capable of. As for your second paragraph, trying to apply logic to their actions is an exercise in futility.
It wouldn't just be "men." Anyone who can pee standing up has to use the urinals. enforcement would rely on a system of social conditioning. It's either that, or keep the binary gender bathrooms, let everyone use the one they identify with, and enforce strict penalties for straight perverts who try to pass as trans…
He's fiddling alright
