Maybe the non-cornrowed version is a wig. Now I want to see Curtis getting changed and just lifting it off and putting it on a dummy head at his dressing table (possibly whilst the others roll their eyes in the background and Ollie just looks vaguely embarrassed) works for me.

the uber-rich guy taking the law into his own hands and doing things the cops aren't willing to do

    Bruce Wayne is anti-gun, anti-corporate corruption, pro-criminal
rehabilitation and criminal justice reform, and respects the authority
of the police department as much as he can when they're not actively
    trying to kill him.

    And bless her for it!

It's a little irritating that the A.V. Club presumes its readership shares its writers political prejudices. Every other article on here seems to be a polemnic about Trump and offering "antidotes" or "consolement". I just want to read about TV and movies and discuss them. Trump got half of the votes in the USA. Why

I prefer it when shows stay out of politics like that. Firstly it dates them a lot when viewed in later years. Secondly, it's an implied insult to half your audience.

He does rather carefully word things in this episode saying specifically "it can annhilate celestial beings", so whilst it's odd they seemed to be explicitly limiting the wipe out of existence effect to angels (and possibly others). And with consideration it does seem that the weapon used by the angel of death would

    "Vain".

I read the entire Illuminatus Trilogy as essentially being a male fantasy about having sex without consequences dressed up as feminism.

I have a pretty good idea. It had the highest literacy rates in North Africa, the highest proportion of doctors in the population in any North African state (and only beaten out in Africa as a whole by obvious candidates such as South Africa and Kenya), it had the tenth largest oil reserves in the world and those oil

That was very well-done by them. Also Chloe's face during it was great. I love these little hints that maybe there is a growing spark between her and Lucifer again. If only he wasn't such an idiot. :D

Pointing out that Chinese is not the same as Japanese is not "a technicality". If someone makes the argument that they didn't make a mistake because it's all asian, that bothers me. Also, you don't need to make personal attacks.

    ARGHHHHH!!!!

Thank you. Yes, yes, K2 is all very impressive. But he can be very challenging.

Nobody with a heart could sue that production. Plus I don't think they really have any money anyway. The whole musical is on YouTube and it's absolutely wonderful. It's also actually quite affectionate to Disney and well-worth watching. The prince in the story is visiting from the neighbouring land of Peexar and there

I did not. I was (affectionately) riffing off Ron Perlman's tectonic featutres. To be clear, on the off-chance he scours the Internet for comments about himself, I'm not calling him ugly, just that his type of handsome is not the delicate porcellain of some youthful prince. I kind of seeing him doing the scare off the

    Didn't we all! ;) :D

But your example is not what was actually said. The comment made wasn't "why is this person white" but "why is this person not Japanese". And when pointed out it was set in Hong Kong their response was effectively 'it's all asian'. That is the part that is being critiqued.

Also, hate to break this to you, but in the trailer Beast is actually kind of ruggedly handsome. As decades of sexy catgirls, snakegirls, et al. should convince you, a person can be a little bit animal but still appeal to many.

The "problematic" aspect of the story was lampooned beautifully in the musical "Twisted" which is actually about Alladin but they worked Gaston in during one of the numbers (well worth watching a couple of minutes in for when he appears):
