She got it done at the Ape Mall…

You don't see many movies do you?

Yep.

Nah. Too many examples. Mostly beginning with "Michael" and ending in "Bay".

Or, they're not boring, but people who criticize thoughtful SF find them boring.

They do exist… and sometimes tend to misjudge.

But her BO…..

I was one of them… Now you might think that an Ape allegory to Black Power might be…. a little offensive, but 11 year old me is cheering with a predominately black audience… part of the weirdness of the 70s I guess. I can't imagine how the SJW's would react to these movies if exposed for the first time.

Actually (I've been watching ALL the Apes film leading in to War this week), When Taylor asks Zara if she did this, she says "No, I've never seen that Man before in my life" , then Taylor looks up at Zaius and says "You did it" and Zaius gives him an expression that all but says "Yeh? Fight me bro" 🙉🙈🙊

That's left ambiguous in the film.

Find a copy of "Conspiracy on The Planet Of The Apes" by Andrew Gaska on Amazon…. it's Planet of The Apes told from Landon's point of view. Lavishly illustrated.

What's remarkable about the series was how well they held together in spite of seat of the pants scripting based on previous box office receipts.

It's aged just fine… or we wouldn't be talking about it. Even the current reboots are criticized for being "boring" … In other words taking its time in developing character and premise… A lot of modern movie SF can be very superficial by comparison, heavy on action and spectacle and light on ideas.

This. Although at the time of its making this very question was brought up. It was decided that it would take too long to set up in the narrative that the Apes spoke a different language and Heston would take time to learn. They were also afraid of unintended humor that could result from Heston learning to speak

Welp, better than "Pew, Pew, Pew"…..

Just for a little context… Science Fiction movies then were only a few years removed from stuntmen in rubber suits carrying screaming bikini clad women in studio bound sets (every other Star Trek episode). Like Kubrick's 2001, Planet of The Apes wanted to be taken as serious adult themed entertainment shot against a

You want to know what's really hilarious? The kids going to great lengths to imitate that look and sun streaked "roughness" of pre digital cinema, because it's "authentically amateurish". Spending millions to look like a Seventies movie. 😀😀😀😀

Both. At least you get more detail. :-)

Typical blurry photo that proves nothing. It could just as easily be two Japanese males. The Loch Ness Monster took better photographs.
