Netflix is greenlighting a ton of stuff other studios just flat out won't even consider and it's amazing. It makes me feel really happy that, as room for mid-budget creativity in film shrinks, we still have Netflix giving auteurs the funding they need to create great content.

That's cool!

Charlize Theron is starting to rival The Rock for ridiculous number of projects on the go at once. Seriously, I want a copy of her schedule and her secret to productivity, because I answered 5 emails in one day yesterday and felt like I deserved the afternoon off.

If you feel you should have been clearer there no need to roll your eyes at me is there?
Of course presenting a point of view as a personal opinion is everybody's right. But no feminist has a right to tell other women what they might decide is a feminist to them as a statement, particularly with little to know

Any woman who claims that violence isn't feminist knows absolutely nothing about feminist progress throughout history. Every scrap of progress, either civil rights or feminism, has been won using many methods including necessary violence in the face of violent oppression.

Anita is very white feminist, so this is correct.

A feminist critic has no right to tell other women how to view a movie they want to call a feminist masterpiece if they view it as a feminist masterpiece.

The implication that all movies must be accurate allegorical representations of feminism and reality based feminist issues to be feminist is ridiculous and unworkable. Fury Road was a movie of stylised exaggeration on every level.

If she didn't mean this as a criticism, why did she mention it in that context. And I take issue with her calling any kind of active action on a woman's part "guy stuff", even in quotations. She was just so way off the mark on this one.

Why would Furiosa express regret for leaving them behind? That wasn't in her character to do. Her and Max had such kinship because they were so closed off to the suffering of others and just wanted to get themselves to safety, even at the cost of others, and it was clear that Furiosa had committed a lot of atrocities

After a year, time to reassess that "seldom" opinion, no?

I wish I could find it funny how badly some of these opinions have aged in a mere year.

Mad Max, yes, a once in a lifetime movie, Kingsman, yes, one exists currently and it was a surprise. Aside from that, one of the Star Wars movies, and Marvel, for the most part, and a Fast and Furious every other year. That's really not that many. Most blockbusters (and there is a huge list) have been dull and self

Both of these movies are on the top of my blockbuster excitement list. If there ever was a year we could use big, colorful, ott movies featuring a talking raccoon with a bazooka and a beautiful, crazy anarchist with a nuclear submarine racing Lamborghini across ice… it's this one! God we might all be dead by next

This one is on my want to watch list for this year. I like my blockbusters big and fun. Remember when blockbusters were fun? Maybe there'll even be a couple of movies out with colours this year.

Response seems largely positive. The trailer broke the record for the most views in 24 hours, topping Beauty and the Beast and Star Wars. Lots of people sad about Paul still, but what happens on the internet rarely has a noticeable impact on box office or reception in the real world. Internet opinion is a bubble.

Good point! He hasn't aged at all!

Worried about being underestimated =/= shy. Obviously she's done some sexy scenes, like pretty much all actors. Coming from a supermodel background that was how she kind of got her foot in the door. But because she never made it her brand, she avoided the typecasting that, say, Angelina Jolie ended up really

Surprised they left off all animations. It's been a great year for animations and Kubo was especially magnificent.

Always feel really bad for actors who get locked in with such bad contracts.
