Believe me, I've been asking myself why I watch this show over the past few days, and it might just be because it happens to be on. AMC is one of the channels I watch quite a bit for whatever reason. Less and less these days, but for the past several years it just always seems right to watch some pop culture darling

I feel like you're giving them way too much credit for the whole "forgiveness is a survival tactic."

I'm not supposed to enjoy a show? Then why am I watching? Why am I wasting my time with a show that is pointless to watch because nothing happens.

That can be true. The last Superbowl was meh. But when one of your teams is playing there's nothing like it in the world. When the Saints won the Superbowl, or when the Buckeyes beat Alabama in the Sugar Bowl, those nights are probably up there in "best moments of all time in the life of me". Watching Jon Snow beat

Listen, I'm honored that you've taken the time to respond to my comment. I totally wasn't expecting that, given how many comments this article has, I figured my ramblings would just be scrolled through. And I understand what it's like to write something that people have a huge problem with. I wrote an article for a

I understand what you're saying, and thanks for your thought-out response. I love this discussion. And it sounds like you actually ENJOYED parts of it. And I've also often enjoyed the insight and humor that Myles adds to the whole experience. It's why I love fandom … loving something so hard that sometimes you just

As per usual I watch an episode of Game of Thrones and am genuinely wowed. I feel like I'd been watching for years for the kind of amazing payoff that went down. Jon Snow + Sansa beating the shit out of Ramsay. Danny and Tyrion in the same room with Theon and Yara, making plans. Things are FINALLY starting to come

It's very much about gender. "If a married man had a sex tape released in such a buttoned-up office, and everyone saw it", I guarantee you wouldn't see girls standing around the water cooler talking about how they'd tap that. There's the difference. How a woman views a sexual man and how a man views a sexual woman are

I'm not exactly sure why, but I don't exactly feel sorry for Paige. She got them into the mess they're in. Maybe it's because she told a pastor about her parents and I have a history with a church like hers and am pretty bitter about it. I just see most pastors as fake delusional judgemental condescending dweebs. I

Yeah, I kept expecting one of them to suddenly shoot her in the back of the head, like they did to Nina. But perhaps they thought that since Nina got whacked, they couldn't do it to Martha too

I agree. I don't think she's a sociopath. I'm not sure what she is, really. I keep switching back and forth to thinking she's like what her sister said, selfish … and just plain sad. She seems like a very lonely person. I actually felt sorry for her when she said she didn't have any friends. And we've only really seen

Right. And didn't the white walker king 'raise' all those dead people last season? I'm having trouble remembering.

Ouch! Seems like everyone was totally off.

I know, right? ;-) Those wigs, man. Who ever thought those damn things were attractive.

Yeah. How BJR manipulated Jaime in that encounter was truly vile. I usually watch each episode several times, but that was one of the hardest things I've ever watched and I never revisited it for multiple viewings. And don't plan to in the future.

Well, yes. It's basically what I said. If Mary's rape was publicized then her reputation would be ruined and no man would marry her. And since everyone at the dinner walked in on Alex on top of the poor girl, I'm pretty sure that reputation just went right out the window. As for the rest … I have no idea what the

O.o

I think Sandringham had a thing for Jaime's youth, beauty, and tenacity. Randall is a sadist, so yeah, he enjoys pain. And I never said the Comte wants to date Claire exactly, more like, he's attracted to her and resents her for it. Perhaps. Also, he knows about shit like stones that turn colors when poison is near.

Totally. Like when Jaime explained that Mary's reputation would be ruined if the rape was known. Claire couldn't fathom that, and we certainly wouldn't agree with that in the modern era, but back then it was sadly a given.

Yep. I know I was frustrated by it. The show is working with a bit of a catch 22. The rape is in the books, and they want to stay true to the books … but actually putting the rape in the show brings up so many questions. Can't win there.
