then why not go with the aforementioned "everybody lives" ?

and don't forget the other patient who constantly tried to say "kill me". yes, that was horrific and all the while I thought bill should really get rid of this glowy substance IV.

oh Bill - is she going to be ok? if that is how she "dies",only far worse than death, it's even more of a crappy ending than even Donna.

as always the answer is a simple and dull; because of money.

agreed.
bill and the doctor in addition with nardole make for an amusing combination. I'll be sad to say goodbye to them and I don't think bill will work quite as well with another doctor/actor. but we will have to wait and see since it's always hard to bid farewell to any doctor.

"death by scotland" was I the only one thinking about "outlander"? surely not.

it's still the ongoing fan debate where a lot of viewers think the next show runner wants a clean slate, so to say, thus not only capaldi but also pearl will have to be replaced.
but as of now I'm unaware of any official announcement as to whether or not bill will actually leave.

that's the power of The Sound of Music~♫

now that you mention "ersatz" it does bring to mind something. perhaps the theory about the doctor dying of some kind of illness is actually true and the doctor really is grooming missy to be his successor once he's gone?
now that'd be interesting, the doctor knowing his end is near so he's looking for someone to

I also really enjoyed this episode but this kind of scenario could have fitted pretty much any new who doctor.
but the companion on the other hand……they might have tried but bill really shone in this episode. I doubt other new who companions would have fared this well.

those last 2 minutes with missy felt really tucked on. if this was an avengers movie it'd definitely be a post-credit scene meant to lure in the viewers for the next adventure.

perhaps he thought it'd turn out like "christmas" and he'd be around a few centuries and then take the tardis back in time and simply continue his adventures? because he really could have been there for thousands, millions or billions of years and once everything was gone he and the tardis would still exist and he

I really enjoyed this episode and even though it really is similar to "empress of mars" I liked it far more.

I never thought about this at all but if this really was the case then it'd be an excellent turn of events.
no seriously, I hope that's how it happens! (and of course I hope he can't transmit the disease because bill and a lot of others would also be screwed then)

when the doctor first regenerated into capaldi I wasn't that keen on him either, he was just too gruff and rude. however he really grew on me the previous season and this one (of course he also mellowed out somewhat). but I never questioned capaldi's acting skill and now I'm sad to see him go.

ah, "good" to know, I suppose. thanks for the answer.

well art is an imitation of life, isn't it?
a lot has gone awry recently and it steeped into most part of more recent productions.

to be fair she was asked suddenly and surrounded by deadly weapons so clearly she was flustered.
still, she could have pointed out that she and the doctor - an earthling and an alien - got along just fine so the ice warriors and earthlings might do the same.

I didn't even notice so thanks for pointing this out!

to be fair as a fan and viewer you can very easily avoid getting spoiled by simply not looking for any news on doctor who and should you have friends who also favor this series tell them to not tell you such things.
not watching trailers and previews is always a simple and effective step i.E.
