It's so effective because an already nearly hopeless situation becomes completely hopeless thanks to the ignorance and hysteria of the heroes' fellow survivors.

I liked it, but it needed more Andre Braugher.

I'm a bigger fan of horror that parcels out violence very sparingly. Suspense is the caviar of horror movies.

I've never found that King is great at sticking the ending. I remember being really engaged and enjoying the Stand, and then being really unhappy with the end. Really liked Salem's Lot too, and found that it just petered out. And don't get me started about IT or Needful Things.
